Thank you for the quick response. We may take a 3:15 flight just in case we experience problems on the road.

We will be arriving in Dover on July 1,2016 at 5:00 am on the Pacific Princess. Would a 12:25 flight out of Heathrow be okay? I would rather not carry our bags off the ship but we do plan on making our own transfer arrangements with Dover Taxi or someone similar.

I want to thank all of you for the research you have done on my behalf. That is why I appreciate this forum. I decided to take the United flight out of YVR that gets into LAX at 4:28. I know I'll be late for the ceremony but at least we can attend the reception. Thanks again!

Throwing this out to expand your options ....
Check flights into ONT. 30 minutes east of Pasadena.
Thanks for the suggestion but there aren't any direct flights from Vancouver to Ontarioand flights on Southwest from Seattle to Vancouver wouldn't be much different in time.

Thank you for your responses. I think we will fly out of YVR to LAX and get there for the reception. That's the fun part anyway. My options are Air Canada Rouge which arrives at 4:03 or Skywest dba United Express arriving at 4:28. I have read some pretty awful recent reviews of Air Canada Rouge. What experiences do you have with them? Thanks.

We are disembarking in Vancouver off the Grand Princess on Saturday, August 15th. There is a wedding at 5:00 in Pasadena, CA we would like to attend. After looking at various airlines, it appears that if we fly to LAX, the earliest we can get there is on Air Canada Rouge which leaves Vancouver at 1:00 and arrives at 4:03. So by the time we go through customs, pick up a rental car, and drive north, we're probably looking at 6:00 at the earliest.
Would it be possible after we disembark to rent a car in Vancouver, drive to Seattle, take a Southwest flight at either 12:00 or 1:25 which flies to the Burbank airport? Or there other options that might work? Thanks!

What time on March 19th do the bookings open up? Is it 12:00 am Eastern, Pacific? Thanks!

Terry,
Thank you for your reply. I just got finished reading all 24 pages of the thread you suggested and your information and pictures are fantastic. I agree that there is no perfect answer to my dilemma about which cruise to choose. It is unfortunate that Princess does not offer a cruise that will go to both Flam and Geiranger. I may just have to look at a different cruise line.
Thanks again.

I am trying to decide between these two Princess itineraries for 2016 (I know there are other cruise lines with similar itineraries but I would like to limit the discussion to Princess):
Pacific Princess - less than 672 passengers
London (Dover), Bergen, Hellesylt, Geiranger, Tromso, Longyearbyen, Honningsvag, Trondheim, Alesund, Skjolden, Haugesand, London
Emerald Princess - 3,082 passengers
London (Southampton), Stavanger, Flaam, Olden, Trondheim, Honningsvag, Tromso, Lofoten Islands, Alesund, Bergen, London
After reading through a lot of threads on this board, it appears that Geiranger & Flaam should not be missed. Well, I can only pick one. I have also been told that Svalbard (Longyearbyen) and Lofoten Islands are a must if you go that far north. Again, I can't do both.
My son likes the bigger ship and I tend to like the smaller ship. Can you offer suggestions on these two itineraries?
Thanks!

Thank you all for your input. I did get the airline to change my flight until Sunday.

Our airline has changed our departure time to Denver from 12:40 to 10:40 am on Saturday, August 15th. Our ship is scheduled to arrive at the port at 7:30. If we walk-off the ship as soon as we can and grab a taxi is the 10:40 flight doable? Thanks.

We hired a driver/guide that drove us to Hobbiton and then took us on a tour as we returned to port. She was excellent.

We would love to do the shuttle bus in Denali, but I called and they will not pick us up at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. How would we get from the lodge to the shuttle bus?
After doing a little more research I found the Denali park salmon bake schedule. http://denaliparksalmonbake.com/shuttle-schedule.pdf
The pickup location is 0.1 mile from the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge.

Actually I personally helped people book the taxi service a couple of times this past summer. Easy peasy. One phone call, set price within the Denali area, arrived on time as scheduled.
Thank you for the information. Would you email me the name and/or phone number of the taxi company? jganthony1 at suddenlink dot net.

I just received notification from my TA that we got a $99.00 credit back from Princess for the Natural History Tour.

I will be staying at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge on August 6-7, 2015.
I just booked the 7:30 am shuttle to the Eielson Visitor's Center for August 7th. How do I get from the lodge to the Wilderness Access Center and back to the lodge? Also, when I booked the shuttle there wasn't an option to take a different shuttle back. If I want to stay longer and do a hike, how do I confirm a later shuttle?

We chose the Princess HB5 Denali Explorer primarily to see as much of Denali as possible. We are planning on taking the shuttle bus from the Wilderness Access Center to the Eielson Visitor's Center when we have a full day at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge and doing a flightseeing tour out of Talkeetna when we stay at the McKinley Princess Lodge. I am booking these tours on my own, not through Princess. I had looked at tours that included Fairbanks but for us, this itinerary was more to our interests.
Can help with Ålesund & Norwegian Fjords:-)
