It’s blindingly obvious to me that Royal are just following the standard practice in retail of raising prices before a sale to make the sale look better than it is, when in reality the sale price is the normal price. And it’ll work - look out for all the gleeful posts next month saying “my UDP just came down $100!”
I very much doubt we’ll see any genuine bargains around Black Friday this year. Higher prices for everything are here to stay.
Agree - It just comes down from £299 to £238 (still higher than average...) but I'm going to secure the price now ugh and repurchase if I see a lower price or cancel if we decide we don't want it...

I have been tracking prices for a while - keep going back and forth on whether I should get it or not. It's usually around £220-230 for 7nights (Symphony Europe 2023), it suddenly shoot up to £297 today...

My 7 day Western Med cruise on SymphonyOTS next May is at £65 including gratuity ($65.3 + 18%). (BOGO 50% off)
I was thinking about waiting for Black Friday as I know the sale is going to be "big" and I don't want to deal with refunds. But I'll secure the price now... seems like the regular cocktail prices onboard have increased from $12.99 to $13.99 on Oasis class with a cap of $14. I wonder whether they will increase the price of DBP even more soon... Say a better sale during Black Friday (usually 30%?) might still be more expensive than the price now.

Bummer.... sorry 😞
No worries! £40pppd is such a good deal! Looks like they did this sale last year as well. If they do it around the same time next year again, I might be able to catch it (sailing Mid May!) I probably will get it now at £65pppd just to secure the price. Also, looks like the regular cocktail prices onboard have increased from 12.99 to 13.99 on Oasis class and the cap now become $14 on those ships. So I wonder whether they will increase the price of the package soon (if they haven't already)... So even a 'better' sale during Thankgiving would end up being more expensive.

Being British and sailing a EU itinerary, don't you have the option to call RC and get it for 40?
Seems to be for 2022 sail only...

Should I go for it? 7 nights Western Med on Symphony May 23.
Prices include gratuity (~US$77.6)
I know I can cancel and repurchase if I see a cheaper price, I'm just thinking there will be a better deal during Thanksgiving and don't want to deal with the refund (looks like quite some people are waiting ages for their refund...)
Thanks!

Not sure about the on-board prices but saw people saying that it's BOGO 50% off offer. Bear in mind that there would be Spanish VAT if you buy on board.
I'm sailing in May on Symphony and my cruise planner says £64.80 now and that's pretty much the cheapest I've seen since the £43/£60 offer.
