  1. I quick search for RCL Shareholder benefits leads one to https://www.rclinvestor.com/contact-us/faqs/shareholder-benefit/. By following the on-line instructions I was able to place my request. Unfortunately, we got the "canned" response below:

    Dear Shareholder,

Thank you for contacting our Shareholder Benefit office.  As a valued Shareholder and Guest, you are very important to us.  On behalf of our company, it is our pleasure to respond to your correspondence.

Unfortunately, we were not able to apply the Shareholder Benefit request due to:

We received your Shareholder Benefit request, but it did not include the Reservation ID. Please resubmit your Shareholder Benefit request.

Once again, thank you for contacting us and hope you have an enjoyable cruise.

    Regards,

    Shareholder Benefit Team
    Royal Caribbean International

After much back and forth and yeoman work from our TA, we finally persuaded Silversea that the "Reservation ID" doesn't actually exist. What they need to give one the credit is the "Booking Number."

If you encounter the same issue, the resolutiondesk@silversea.com finally resolved the issue and we got our credit.

    It took three attempts.

  2. Moecker got back to me. As it turns out, I did receive a small sum back from my credit card that I either missed or occurred after my initial claim. By return email I apologized for  my error and restated my claim with the slightly reduced amount.

I will report back if and when the situation changes.

  4. I received an email today "SERVICE OF COURT DOCUMENT-2022-02742-CA-01 - REFERENCE ........" disputing my claim filed with Moecker for funds due from "Old Crystal".

Pursuant to the Claims Procedure Order, if a claimant disputes this Objection to
their claim, then within 21 days of service of this Objection, such claimant must contact the
Assignee via email at crystalclaimsobj@moecker-crystal.com to attempt to resolve the dispute.

Needless to say, I have already responded denying the allegation that I have received compensation for my losses to Old Crystal from a credit card company.

  5. Yes, we're just back from Serenity and can happily report it's the same cruise experience we had in 2019 and earlier years with only a few exceptions. The ship's decor seems the same to me. Perhaps it's my lack of perception, but I failed to see signs of renewal but neither did I see signs of decline. Service continues to be the friendliest imaginable with familiar personnel committed to friendliness and joy.

In general, food is as good and perhaps better than before. I miss the large assigned tables in Waterside as we always loved meeting new cruisers but, happily for us, we met several couples we knew from the old days and renewed those friendships.

The performing and musical talent on-board continues to impress and we saw one new show, a combination of a Shakesperean farce, West Side Story and Rent that was very good. The sonic design of many of  the presentations continues to rankle my audio sensibilities as the sound is compressed with the "soft" segments nearly as loud as the crescendos. I found earplugs necessary at times. I did not like the single 9:30 PM showtimes. Apparently I was not alone as beginning with the next segment starting time is moved to 9:00 PM.

We liked Umi Uma and Osteria but clearly, Osteria is not a hit as reservations were scarcely required for the second half of our trip. Waterside remains good and reliable for both lunch and dinner. However, as we neared the end of our voyage I suspect attendance at all the "Premium" venues lagged  as Waterside became more crowded and service there slowed.

The lecturers were uniformly good. One could argue they were not up to previous standards but previously we were treated to genuine "world class" talent. No one was that good on this cruise.

Those who expected the Abercrombie and Kent association would transform shore excursions were wrong. This batch continued to be dominated by local availability and were mostly mundane.

It will be interesting to compare this experience with our upcoming cruise on Silversea. I'll report back.

  6. In 2019 we took a float plane excursion. When the plane buzzed Sydney Harbor, I grabbed this unusual shot of Serenity with the Opera House in the background. I can't recall which other line beat us to the premier docking spot, but there they are in the background.SerenityinSydney.thumb.jpg.bdee56cad324dfed15fb94ee1bc39f20.jpg

  7. Regarding James Fox and the Billy Joel Tribute Show, in 2017 we were fortunate to see Mr. Fox and the full show three times on the World Cruise around South America. It was a full show then and Mr. Fox played the same part on Broadway. It should still be a treat.

  8. Reporting back: Earlier I reported that A&K had issued two Exceptional Certificates for a single stateroom booked and lost on Serenity. After appealing to Crystal, they have now agreed and issued a single certificate equal to the sum of the singles.

For anyone who may  need it, the supporting email came from: exceptionalinitiative at crystalcruises dot com

  9. Feeling dissed!

Per my TA, Crystal has me down for two Exceptional certificates. Maybe this should please me, but I didn't book two separate cruises for myself. I booked one cruise for my wife and  me. I think I/we're entitled to a single certificate equal to the sum of the singles.

    Any thoughts?

  10. Official guids should be good as they have to sit a test.

Most work for them selves so cheaper to book direct, we did and he was excellent, so impressed we bookedanother day

    Heres his Email

    mordi zissman [morzissman@yahoo.com]

Wanted to give a shout-out to Mordi Zissman. We booked him for a two-day tour of Jersualem/Masada/Dead Sea during Crystal Serenity's 2018 stop in Ashdod. I can't imagine a better guide. Mordi is knowledgeable, personable and organized. If you are able to hire him to be your guide I promise you've reached the top-tier.

    Jeff
