    My thing is how do you check in how do you do the medical questionnaire. 
     

    I am traveling from Canada and hate to show up and then not be aloud to board. 
     

    just cruised with carnival a few weeks ago and it was so much easier than this mess

  3. I have searched everywhere for an answer. So I'll ask here on the forum.

    My next October cruise, I will have 70 days at the start of it. It's an 8 day cruise. At the end of it I will have 78 days. Will I be cruising Platinum at the start of my October cruise or will I have to wait until the next cruise? Also are there any booking discounts at Platinum?

     

    We had a B2B booked and would be turning Platinum on the second cruise. But Carnival had us as platinum form day one of the first cruise. :D

  4. Why would Carnival want to give free cruises to those of us who cruise often? They are already getting our money no matter what. They know that the G/P/D pax will continue to book regardless of incentives. They know they no longer have to earn out business.

    If you want one of these deals, stop booking a cruise with Carnival and see if one shows up. I currently have three cruises booked with Carnival so I don't expect to receive any offers any time soon. I take that back, I did receive a platinum offer for a 2 day cruise out of California, but that's more of a joke than an offer. The fact that some people get offers does not upset me at all. Good for them. Enjoy your cruises.

     

    This is about the only consistency I have seen is if you have a cruise booked already you have 99.99% chance of not getting an offer.

  5. We recently came into LA from a Panama Canal Cruise and had a flight booked out of LAX at 5:15pm. Cruise companies always want to get rid of you once the ship docks but disembark timing can be a bit erratic, particularly if the weather gets involved. This makes it difficult to plan long return flights (especially non-refundable ones) so this often means long delays between docking and flying out. I have a real dislike of airports in general and LAX in particular, so the thought of spending the best part of a day there after the cruise was not something I was looking forward to, so I set out researching what to do to make the time more worthwhile.

     

    There have been a number of good ideas put on CC ranging from car hire and visits to various sites such as the Queen Mary but I settled on a combined transfer and sightseeing trip around LA from LA Insiders. It turned out to be one of my better ideas. They were superbly flexible with meeting times, trip itineraries and airport arrival. They have had very good reports on Trip Advisor which was one of the reasons I was content to book with them from distance. They were on time collecting us in a new minivan just for our use. We had a very effective and knowledgeable driver/guide who took us round the various tourist sites and then got us back to the airport just as our check-in gate opened. Not cheap but very good value for the money and it turned out to be a really smooth and entertaining end to a great cruise.

    We are doing a Carnival Miracle cruise and are looking at renting a car too so I looked on this post hoping for info.

     

    Your post was not that hard to understand and I am not familiar with the area. I guess some people cant read between the lines very well.

  7. Just off Glory yesterday- had a great time with Dr. E (also known as Reverend E.). Both 'honorary' titles. Seemed to be everywhere. Young and energetic. Doesn't make too many announcements like some other CD's. DON'T miss his music trivia at the casino stage. Get there 1/2 hour early to get a seat- though he will have you up dancing. Plays a short clip- but no 'sanging' along as he puts it. Once all the clips are played he will go back and play the whole song- that's when everyone sings (and dances). SO MUCH FUN. I think he should have it in a bigger area as most people had to stand for the hour. This is NOT like the 'regular' trivia that is played throughout the day. Scheduled 2 evenings at 9:45- all different songs.

     

    Also went to his Q&A- fun, too. Said his contract on the Glory was just renewed for another year.

     

    Have never really paid attention to other CD's (though Jaime Dee is a winner, too). Dr E actually made a difference!

     

    DR. E is the best CD we have ever had out of 16 cruises. We had him on the Glory last Jan. He was not it was his second week of being a CD then.

     

    Loved, LOVED his music trivia on the casino stage. Also gave him a big hug when I seen him with his sign that said free hugs.:D

  8. I feel your pain! Keep fighting it and they will reluctantly except your claim. It took us a month of fighting back and forth but in the end we got the price match! It made me crazy that they were denying it do to transportation even though neither Carnival or Puerto Vallarta Tours include transportation because the Pirate ship docks directly next to the cruise ship! We sent them pictures, screen shots detailing that the pirates would escort us from the cruise ship to the pirate ship and even a letter from the tour company that this was the case! (Even months later this really annoys me!!!)

    But in the end we won! Keep fighting and you will too!

     

    How did you contact them? I have sent them emails and get no answer. What email address were you using for them? or do you have a phone number.

    I just got denied because of the transportation bull.

  9. I recently returned from the 11/15/14 - 11/22/14 sailing to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta and wanted to write a comprehensive review of my experience at the Chef's Table. I originally intended to include this as part of my complete review of the Miracle but felt this review deserved its own section due to the popularity of this option. Please correct me if I've misspoken along the way with my facts and I apologize ahead of the time for the less than high quality pictures. Hope you enjoy the adventure!

     

    We will be cruising this in Jan. so I was wondering if you are going to write up a review of the cruise?

  10. I disagree. I've never had an issue when dealing with price drops. I think the problem is the amount of people that do not understand the rules that accompany the fare they booked.

     

    You are so right. The problem is not Carnival it is people trying to get price drops when there fare is not Early Save. I am so glad Carnival is starting to crack down on their rules. I am tired of booking Early Saver to get price drops then see all these other people who did not book Early Saver and Carnival giving them price drops when they should not. I also wish Carnival would stick to their rules and not allow Early Savers to price match to guaranteed rates.

  11. I just read about the new pricing on Carnival's website. I am disappointed that the per day rate went up. I was really looking forward to trying the program on my next cruise. It sure didn't take long for the rate to increase, did it? It seems like they just started the lower rates a couple months ago.

     

    The lower rates had just started back in Aug. :mad: Wish they would make up their minds. This is getting stupid.

So finally after waiting almost 3 weeks for the claim to process I have received an email from Berkley saying that my claim was approved and I should receive a check in the mail within 10 business days for 1500 bucks. Still not the exact price of my laptop but definitely worth it. I'm extremely glad I purchased the vacation protection and from now on i will definitely do so.

  13. We have just booked an 8K balcony on the Miracle for January. The Carnival representative suggested we book on the Port (left) side for this cruise. We cruised the Splendor in 2009 and were on the Starboard (right) side. We love to be on the side with views of the city and the pier (and yes we love the pier runners at the end of the day). Can anyone tell me which side of the ship we should have selected for this particular cruise? Thanks so much.

     

    Come over to the Jan. 4th roll call. I am doing a B2B jan. 4 and Jan 10 cruise.

  14. I am 13 days from Platinum. :D If I booked a back to back of 7 days each how would the status be changed. Would the system recognize the change in status for the second leg? Maybe I would have to go to Guest Services and make sure it was fixed? I am just curious if anyone knows how this would work. Thanks!

     

    I had a b2b booked and with my days I would turn Platinum on the second cruise.

    When I booked the cruises I made sure carnival linked the cruises as a b2b. Because of this carnival had me as Platinum from day one of the first cruise. So had priority boarding and free laundry from day one. The free laundry is very nice to have on a b2b cruise.

     

    My luggage tags and boarding pass for both cruises all showed that I was platinum.

  15. When I was on the Miracle for the last Alaska cruise. They would not let me buy any drinks. Even when I told them I was getting the singers drink they took that off my 15 and gave him the beer. Was not happy about this and should have went to guest services about it. Next time I will. So much for they not sharing your dinks.
