  1. For anyone who's interested in Antarctica, or wildlife, there's a Seabourn "dispatches" blog detailing the inaugural Quest voyage in the region.

Informative reading, excellent pics (see the albatross one), and for me, continued reading will answer a few of the doubts I had/have about how such a cruise would work on a ship like Quest.

You should check out Seabourn's Facebook page.

Look under "recent posts by others" on the right side of the page

  2. You obviously have encountered this on your cruises but this is not always the case. On the cruises I have done we have had overnights in Ho Chi Min, Singapore, Cairns, Bali and Melbourne, two nights in Bangkok. With our upcoming 14 night Caribbean cruise we have two stops where we will stay until 2300 & 2200. But maybe we were just lucky.

Oh I know they exist, just not as often as they do on other lines.

If you compare similar itineraries/number of days, on average, Seabourn has fewer overnights and extended time in ports than the competition, especially on the shorter (less than 14 days), itineraries.

  3. I would look closely at the itineraries and time/overnights in port and then decide what's more important to you, the ship, or the ports. I'm going on my 3rd and possibly last Seabourn cruise soon. I love the cruiseline, but Seabourn seems to spend the shortest time in port, seems like every day is spent rushing - they need to consider spending more time in ports and doing more overnights, IMHO.

  4. Yes but it's usually the Bar Brand that is served, not even Smirnoff, Belvedere or Kettle One....but it's icy cold!

If you want Ketel One just ask for it, they always have it in the observation bar. I can't imagine drinking a martini made with Smirnoff....rock gut.
