As was stated earlier, with Move Up you get the ammenties of the new room but no the perks.  e.g.  Suite amenities are Access to the Retreat Lounge/Michael's Club and Luminae.  The perks of booking a suite class rooms are the OBC, WiFi, prepaid gratuities, and Premium Beverage Package.   As also noted, when in the Retreat Lounge/Michael's Club the drinks are complementary but not on the Retreat Sundeck or in Luminae.

Do they let people get their drink in the retreat lounge and take it out to the retreat sun deck, or do they make you finish it there?

Update: Status went to Pending and locked on 2/14, with no ability to add/modify/cancel any more bids. Exchanged emails with celebritymoveup@celebrity.com, and they said they don't have access to where we are in the bidding pool, only can tell if bid is accepted or rejected and it's still pending, so not out of it yet at least.  Also said bids can be confirmed up to 48 hours before sailing.

Updated: Just got accepted and upgraded this morning to SS! Very excited!

I've actually had a moveup bid "frozen" at pending for over 96 hours now with no CC charge...we're still over 30 days from sailing...

Update: Just got upgraded this morning to SS! Screen was frozen for 11 days despite sending emails to MoveUp address. But in the end it worked! Very excited!

Now you have me worried. Gonna be on the Edge in April and the Apex in October and I look forward to craps and poker. Hopefully staffing issues will be fixed by then but I would be very disappointed with your scenario.

Sorry to tag onto this topic after almost a year, but since there's a Casino crowd here, for those who have played craps on APEX, what have you witnessed as a typical start time for the craps table?  Our first cruise on Celebrity was the Solstice in January, and they had 1/2 of the craps table open with only 768 on board, so I'm hoping that things have improved and recent cruises have had better table game staffing ....

I have this question as well......and, the notes for the tour specify that you must wear a mask. Is this still true?

CaroleSS, we did a Solstice tour in January and they did requires masks and security screening before going in the engine control room and the bridge. It was to protect the officers as if one of them gets sick, they don’t have that many skilled replacements:). They had extra masks for people that didn’t bring one. Very good tour, willing to answer any questions and actually went 30 minutes longer than planned!

Wow. Good to have some inside intel!  I have many times mused about the obvious food waste on cruise ships. I’ve seen countless abandoned plates of food left on tables waiting to be bussed and I wondered why someone would take all that food if they weren’t going to eat it. I think Celebrity are right to make efforts to counter food waste. I’m glad, even. But I hope they reassess their strategy. Cook to order stations like the stir fry are no brainer ways to reduce waste while keeping passengers happy. Another option is to serve hot meals at dinner that people actually want to eat.

Yes, went on ship tour on Solstice Mexican Riviera in Jan and they mentioned food waste as a bigger emphasis for sustainability and economics. (Our ship was 25% full - 700+ people. They called it our “private yacht”😊

On Apex now and dinner buffet has no grill station yet… but there has been a carving station each night and several nights the Stir Fry station has been open.  Must say the bakery people on this ship are superb!  The breads and desserts are the best we’ve ever had.  Overall the reduced offerings have been excellent.  They are actually using some seasonings and even the veg fried rice had a little zip.

We were very leary the first night but are totally ok if they keep things like this, although would really like a grill and/or pasta station.  Had a conversation with one of the Exec Chefs who was standing around and he said they are kind of in a tough spot… if they cut too much people won’t come, but if they have too much it is wasted.

Just went on Solstice for first X cruise in January. Didn’t go to OV at night but lunch had carving station and pasta station every day, and the best pizza! We thought overall food was excellent in MDR - agree that bread basket and flavored butter choices every night was exceptional! Lobster was smaller but never went away hungry:)
