We do it all the time and my hubby uses a mobility scooter. At midday - easy to get back on and just as easy to get back off. Enjoy your first cruise. It won't be your last!!

I agree with the above - we pretty much opt for the cruiseline services from airport to cruiseport. It is then their responsibility to get you to the ship in a timely manner. With luggage and a hubby in a wheelchair (which doesn't fit well in cabs....), I prefer the cruiseline transport. Used in in May coming and going on our cruise out of San Diego to Alaska; ending up in Vancouver....worth every penny.

Our first goes back to September, 1968 and we have been hooked ever since. Long delay until next cruise in 1996 - child raising, career, etc. Now we try for 3 cruises per year. In five weeks we shall make our first TA cruise. Can't wait.

Thank you so much for the information. It now appears that we shall be flying into JFK day before; stay at airport hotel nearby. Have sent emails out for quotes on transport to QE2. Yes, the cruiseline does charge $30pp!! When r u cruising next and where?

As to packing - I always pack a night light. Unless you leave the bathroom light on all night, the night light plugged in the vanity outlet provides just enough light to make it safely to the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is important for our senior citizens especially. Already mentioned - small LED clock and empty water bottle a must, safety pins and rubber bands. I once used the rubber bands to "hike" up my hubby's shirt sleeves when we realized his new shirt was too long in the arms. Worked like a charm. Most of all relax and enjoy the experience.
