So does no one take BART from the airport???

Depending on where you are driving from to drive past the port to the airport adds another 35-40 min depending of traffic to the drive.

Parking at the airport is an option for sure but if I’m taking BART anyway I’d just rent a car and drop it off at the Hyatt. That puts you at the same BART spot.

We have a cruise in July and booked the parking months ago and we got email verification that they will still honor the parking by both companies.  I got scared after seeing this and was stressing to find other parking and just not many options out there.

Same here. I did a lot of research after this. Another cheap option I found was to rent a car from Avis and drop the car off at the Avis office inside the Hyatt that is at 5 Embarcadero. From there you can just walk down to pier 27 or grab a taxi or Uber from the Hyatt. For the return trip you again can pick up a rental car from the Avis Hyatt.

Parking at the airport is always an option but honestly for me next time I plan to do the rental car option. I think after all this I’d rather not leave my car in SF anymore. I’m always worried about the lot safety there. This way I don’t have to worry about my car.

I just got that email yesterday but honestly am concerned still as the previous email I got from ABM was it wasn’t their garage anymore and I needed to contact the other company Metropolis.  It would suck to show up only for them not to honor it and now you have no parking.

  4. On my last cruise I remember there was a time you were to exit the room but could remain on the ship in the common areas. I can’t remember what time that was. Does anyone know what time you must exit your room on disembarking day?

    Thank you.

From the San Francisco Port website:

Metropolis offers long-term cruise parking at 80 Francisco Street. Contact rjeangilles@metropolis.io and anguyen@metropolis.io or call 415.398.4162 with questions about your reservation.

I checked their site too but thank you for also looking. The number is bad and I emailed the addresses with no reply so far. I also checked the Metropolis site and it online gives an option to book monthly online.

I actually called the port and they told me they have been meaning up update their website due to the incorrect number.

  6. I was booked at the recommended 80 Francisco St near the port but I contacted ABM who I booked with a few months ago and they told me they are no longer the management for the 80 Francisco St garage. They told me to contact that garages new management but after a lot of searching online I can’t find who its owner is now. It’s not impact either.

Does anyone have any advice for long term parking other than 80 Francisco? Does anyone know who the new ownership is for that garage?

    Thank you!

  7. I heard that many of the ships were removing their board games. I was wondering what board games people had noticed recently on the different ships. My teen loves chess and was hoping there would be a chess set? Can you check out the games to bring back to your room or do you have to play them only in the library?

    Thanks!

I’ve heard many reviews about luggage drop off at the Port of SF and most of them are bad. 😞 At Long Beach the porters are waiting as you as you pull in into the parking garage to take your bags. I’ve heard that’s not what happens in SF and often you are stuck is some long time waiting to check in your bags.

What was your experience at the Port of SF and finding the porters to drop your bags off with?

    Thanks!

The Carnival website is very clear about what is included in each plan.

Yes, but none of the plans say they can be used for playing on any gaming devices but I know the premium does work. It’s also different as you are not logging on to any website. All you are doing is connecting the switch to the wi fi. This allows you to play some of the games that are downloaded vs have a physical game card.

  10. My teen likes to bring his Nintendo switch lite the handheld version on the ship. Our last cruise I got the premium WiFi and he had no issues playing it. I was wondering if anyone knew if the social WiFi package would be enough for him to play some of his switch games?

    Thanks!

  11. Are you leave from the Port of Long Beach? If yes then Long Beach or John Wayne are good to fly into. I like to avoid LAX myself as it’s crazy. I like John Wayne as it’s smaller as easier to use.

The Radiance is current in Long Beach port but just make sure it’s not leaving out of LA.

  12. I wanted to make sure I understand the VIFP benefit correctly. I have always seen the 1.5 L of bottled water in the room. I’ve always never touched it as it’s expensive, lol. I saw on the website if you are red or above then the 1.5 L of water is free. Does that mean that cheap person in the cabin who is red or above can drink the expensive water in the room for free? Do you have to inform anyone you are using this as your free water?

Does anyone who is of different benefit levels like any of the other benefits they are offered?

    Thanks!

  13. I forgot to book the dining time. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. The only time left was late 8pm. I checked the wait list for My Time. The ship is the Miracle.

I heard people say go to the dining room when you are on board and ask if you can change dining times. When do you do this? When you first get on? Do you still go in if the dining room is closed ?

Thanks for any advice. I’m so sad. We just are not late people so if 8pm is our only option we just won’t be eating in the MDR. We really enjoyed the MDR our last trip with My time.

  14. Will Big Chicken be coming to all the ships? We just went on the Radiance and my teen loved it. I enjoyed it as well. I was surprised to learn later that it’s only on a few ships. Does anyone know if it will be coming to all the ships?

    Thanks!

  15. I’ve sailed carnival before but pre pandemic and never in a suite. I’ve found one with a good price but I’m confused. I’m looking at the ocean suite on the radiance for two adults and two teens. My teens will not be happy to share a double pull out sofa. They would be okay to have one on the sofa bed and one on a Pullman bunk. Does anyone know what the exact bed set up is for four? The room says it holds 4 but I can not find the sofa bed set up info. Thank you!
