  1. Thanks for sharing! I think what worries me is the Oceaneer's Club (from what I can tell on the website) is for ages 3-12. That's quite a large range, and I've read that the club can be chaotic. I just don't want my 3 year old to go mowed over or trampled on by the older kids.

We live in Belgium and it's quite rainy in the winter, so we go to an indoor playground to let our son run around and play. There are areas for ages 1-5 but in the main area it can get crazy, with kids running around, and sometimes the little ones get knocked down, or hit with the balls in the ball pit etc.

I think we are going to have to play this one out by checking into the clubs once we get on board and maybe double checking with Disney that he would be allowed in the nursery area.

  2. Thanks for the responses everyone! I wasn't sure about the cutoff age on the nursery since it said up to age three, and I didn't know if that included three year olds or once they turned three, they graduated to the next club.

My 3 year old does not do tae kwon do, but he does like to run, jump and play. He's not potty trained yet but we are going to start next year ... he just turned two so we will have time.

    Thank you again!

  3. We sailed with Disney when our son was 6 months old. The nursery was great for his age then as he wasn't doing much. On our next cruise, he will have just turned three, meaning he will still be in the It's a Small World Nursery.

I can't remember much about the nursery other than it seemed to have a lot of play mats and cots for babies. Will he be super bored as a three year old with a lot of energy? What activities do they do with the older kids in the nursery?

    Thanks!

  4. Thank you for your input! I really want to try the fantasy, but I'm not sure I can talk my husband into it. The extra cost+larger ship might be two strikes .... BUT if we go with Magic (the less expensive) I might be able to upgrade our room. :-)

We loved the Magic with our then 6 month old. This time around, he'll be three, so nap time will be a factor. We are more readers than TV watchers, and last time we took naps while baby napped! But now we are all getting good sleep so nap time is my chance to slip off to the spa!

  5. Thanks Moki! Appreciate the quick response. Flight cost doesn't really matter; NATO is paying for our flight back. We really loved the Magic as well and my husband likes the smaller ship/less people concept. So we will probably do that but we wanted to check to make sure Miami port wasn't terrible or something. I figured it was the ship that was affecting the price.

    Have a great day!

  6. We are looking at a Disney Cruise in December 2016. We will be flying in from Belgium, and preferably would like to fly into MCO and cruise out of Port Canaveral, as we have family nearby. BUT we noticed that the cruises from Miami (same itinerary, different ship, within a day of each other) are $700-1,000 cheaper. The Disney Magic leaves from Miami, the Fantasy from Port Canaveral.

Is it the ship or the port that is affecting the price? We will be with our then three year old son. We were on the Magic before and loved it. Is the Fantasy worth the extra cost? Thank you all for your input!
