If you get the princess plus package does that mean you don't have to pay the mandatory gratuities?  Is it included in the $65 a day?

As I understand from previous posts, the gratuities aren’t included for Australia and New Zealand bookings; the headline price of the bundle is lower to reflect this. If booking from UK, USA, Canada the gratuities are in the bundle

Following too. Usually sail X but actually on a Princess 14nt cruise to Norway next month. Good to hear embarkation was quick. Am told that Princesses have been long/busy in Southampton. Trying out X-class on the Ascent in September.

Have driven past Stonehenge numerous times over the years but not been there since a child (when we could climb on it). Must go back.

The only time Princess was busy at check in for me was when we had to wait to hand the car over for parking. that took a while, but once we were out of the car it was no more than 15 minutes to get on the ship. It was the same when I sailed with X and RCL - dropping the car off took longer than check in!

  3. If you really want to watch full coverage of the Olympics, why not put save up and do the UK cruise next year?  Maybe the extra savings will pay for the balcony and the Plus package. There’s so much to see in our part of the world, it’d be so sad to spend it trying to find screens showing the sport. I often take holidays to avoid sporting events 😆

Thank you! I'm pretty hot natured so I will pack some! And have you ever seen it get warm up to lay out by the pool on sea days? I will take a swimsuit in case I'd need it, but just curious!

It’s always a possibility but, then again so is greyness and drizzle. Be an optimist & bring the cossie!

Sooo grateful that you are reporting this information and that I stumbled across it! We are on the 5/27 British Isles cruise and I am currently trying to pack and also firm up plans for transportation from the port to several cities... So I've read that I 60-70 degree weather is "Sweatshirt Weather" and to pack to dress in layers while on excursions,,, In addition to these layering pieces I can add or remove, I'll also have a rain jacket and a medium weight jacket... but would I have any need for shorts?

    As a Brit, anything over 20C is shorts weather 😎😆 (that’s 68F)

In theory July should be at least that. And it sometimes is for, ooh maybe, a week,

Layers. Definitely layers. And a sneaky pair of shorts just in case.

  6. Has anyone else had issues getting into the app today? I can’t login either using my email or via my booking reference. I just keep getting “Something went wrong - try again later”. The website login works fine. With a cruise coming up very soon it would be quite convenient to be able to access the app!

We are doing the 12 day in June. What are everyone’s opinions on how many Euros would be advisable to have? I figure most places take CC but for smaller incidentals I would expect them to prefer cash.

    Thanks in advance!

You only need Euros for Republic of Ireland, then pounds for the UK part of the cruise. Yes, lots of places accept card or contactless payment.

  8. Once you get to the bidding site, there’s a slider to put your amount on - per person, or double if you’re sailing solo. There’s an icon that tells you the strength of your bid; I’ve managed with £5 above minimum before now! Good luck

  9. Treat it like a lottery ticket! Put in a cheeky low bid; after all you don’t pay unless your bid is accepted and, as there are no ocean view cabins on Sky, you will get a balcony of some sort. Enjoy your cruise whatever room you’re in!

I wall warn you.    Hawaii is magical and once you go you will have to come back.   The best part is unlike the Caribbean it doesn't really get HOT and HUMID.    The temps don't change much year round and the trade winds are always blowing back and forth keeping you comfortable.

Looks like I need to do some serious saving - I’m not good at economy flights these days 😂
