We are still fans.  When we talk about vacations, a Celebrity cruise is always included in the discussions.  We have always enjoyed sailing with them.  We recognize the prices have gone up; but what hasn't?

I think a some people allow outside frustrations to creep in and use Celebrity as a punching bag.  Inflation is rampant and the dollar just doesn't go as far as it did. Heck, I was in the best grocery store this week and a chuck roast was $9.49 / lb!  That's just insane.

I travel a lot.  And I have seen changes throughout all types travel & vacationing.  Airlines have made cuts while raising prices and add on fees.  Airport lounges are also making all kinds of reductions of offerings or price increases (or both).  Hotels are cleaning the rooms when they feel like it vs everyday.  I live in Orlando & have you looked at the price of a Disney vacation??  We use to have annual passes pre-covid & the cost to buy the same one now is almost double.  And don't even get me started on Restaurants.  They are a shell of their former selves.  Even my favorite pricey steakhouses have yet to return to their quality standards while raising prices.

Fortunately most of the grumbles having been going on so long now; it's just background noise to me.

We are also passholders who live in Orlando. Not only have the prices gone up, but we get a lot less being APs than we did before Covid! So you’re right….costs are going up everywhere, and we are getting less than we used to.

So glad to hear this!  We will be on the Equinox in 2 1/2 weeks, first time on Celebrity.  Heard a lot of negatives regarding the cruise, so glad you all had a great experience.  I am looking forward to it!

There can be a lot of negativity on here, but I try not to read too much into it. The ship is very clean and well maintained, the crew members we interacted with were friendly and welcoming (several going above and beyond to connect with us and make us feel special), and the food and service was excellent! We were a group of 9 for this most recent one and had such a great time. I’m sure you will have the same great experience! Enjoy!!

  3. We are on Equinox now! It’ll vary with each sailing. This cruise has had a few of the in house production shows, and two outside performances- Boy Band Evolution and a female rock singer. There’s always lots of live music offered, as well as silent discos  and late night club offerings.

  4. You’re welcome! I wouldn’t stress about it. I’ve found them to be very accommodating. We have select dining in the MDR and at dinner the first night, one of the managers asked if we wanted the same table at the same time for all 9 of us for the remaining nights. We said yes and he set it up right then.

    You’ll have a great time!

Following.  Doing this itinerary next month.

Have only done one Celebrity cruise, so apologies for questions.

Your room key, you pick it up in your room and not prior to boarding?

Anyone have experience bringing your own water and soda onboard at embarkation?  Carry on or check with porters?  We did not get a package, so bringing our own.

We brought our own soda and water on, to Equinox, in July. We had a few 12-packs and bottled water too. And then dropped it off in our room as soon as we boarded, since the room keys are at your door and you can access your room right away. Very nice to have this option!

  6. We were on Equinox this summer and there was plenty of availability on board to make specialty dining reservations. We had one booked in advance and booked two additional on the spot. Enjoy your trip!! We LOVED the Equinox!!

  7. I agree with the others; the front row chairs fill up quickly. We had a similar time of 8 am and I’m glad we went that early to get a good spot. We were less than impressed by this excursion overall. It had the potential to be nice, based on the facilities, but it fell short of that. You get a welcome drink upon entering, and then a voucher for a lunch and a drink. The line to redeem the lunch voucher was very long and once you placed your order, you then got into another line to wait for the food. The choices were things like cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches, with a bag of chips and a soda. We didn’t go to the pool, but the music was very loud and I was surprised by some of the songs that were playing😳 The beach was beautiful but the resort itself wasn’t our favorite. I love the DIY suggestion above, and will look into that if we go again!

Best shore X is Mr. Sanchos beach club.  You can get a Day pass, but from an outside vendor- do a search.  It is wonderful- take a cab, no waiting on line for a bus.

Yes to this!!! We went to Mr Sanchos in July (we were also on Equinox). We loved it! I would highly recommend 😋

Please be aware that the Yacht Club offering is VERY different from the rest of the ship.  I would  never sail MSC unless I booked the Yacht Club.

Agreed! I didn’t sail Yacht Club but we did a basic room on MSC this past June and I will never sail them again, YC or not. Definitely an example of, you get what you pay for. I’ve seen some others write positive reviews about MSC and I’m glad they had a great experience. It was definitely not for us.

  10. We were on the Equinox the week of July 16. There were no clips, just the straps. No special shoes needed. Peloton bikes were first come, first served. There were 4, but they were never all operational. By the end of the cruise, all 4 had been removed☹️

You did have to have a peloton account in order to use one of the bikes.

  11. I took a Pilates class on Equinox recently, but to be honest, it was not a great experience. It was taught by one of the two main fitness instructors and I could tell he wasn’t specifically trained in Pilates. I figured I still benefited from going, though.

They also offered yoga as well as morning and evening stretch classes.

I was on Celebrity in Dec 2022 and had already pre-purchased wifi, when they did a discounted wifi offer.  Before I pre-purchase for my upcoming trip: Has anyone been on the Equinox recently/did they notice if there were any wifi discounts, at some point, in the first 2 days?    Thanks!

I can’t remember which day, I’ll have to check my daily planner again, but halfway (or so) through our 6 day cruise on Equinox a few weeks ago, they were offering internet packages 40% off.
