  1. Yeah, that has bugged me since before these changes. If I'm on a 14-day cruise, I feel like I should get double of that stuff since I'm paying double for Plus/Premier. Haha. This reminds me of my late MIL who constantly would tell us what bread and milk cost when she first got married. Btw, gas was .54 a gallon when I first started driving. 😉 The Plus package includes internet (wifi) and crew appreciation though. If you plan to use most of the stuff that comes with Plus, you don't need to drink $60 worth to break even. It made sense for us and we don't drink much alcohol at all.
  2. I made a spreadsheet too! (I just didn't mention it because I figured people were getting tired of me saying "I made a spreadsheet" in every post about packages. LOL)
  3. The Plus is worth it even if you don't drink at all. Here's how it works out: The Zero Alcohol package is 29.99 a day. Crew Appreciation varies but let's say you are in Balcony or lower, that's 16 a day. If you weren't planning to go to fitness classes, eat the specialty desserts, or get internet, that's $45.99 a day which is less than the Plus package. But if you want internet, that's 60.98 a day which is slightly more than Plus. And with Plus you get a few other things thrown in. So just get the Plus and drink as little or as much as you want! 😄
  4. I got the prices for WiFi from the Princess.com website. Fitness classes, I couldn't find on the website so I was going off posts here and blog posts elsewhere. Good to know the actual price! Why would people take classes? Some people like to work out in groups. In my case, I want to take a spin class at least once a week because I'll be training for a triathlon and don't want to miss two weeks of biking. I know I can do it without a class but I also know that I won't. LOL I do have a question about those specialty desserts. What qualifies and what sorts of things are they? Is this something I would really use? I like things like chocolate mousse pie, but I'm not going to eat an enormous sundae (or any sundae, tbh) Also, what do they *really* cost?
  5. I'm going to wait and see if Princess changes their mind and comes up with a new Photo package before my cruise. If they don't, I'll consider upgrading to Premier but I have 17 months until my cruise and I doubt they won't change their offerings a few times by then.
  6. Here is what I have: WiFi 1 device 14.99/day 4 devices 19.99/day Gratuities (depends on cabin class) 16-18/day Fitness Classes (estimate based on internet talk) 20/class Specialty Dining - varies by restaurant, usually $30-40 (You have to look up each restaurant individually) Specialty Desserts - Package is $11.80 for 2 so $6 each? Photo Package 5 photos - 90, 10 photos -169 (digital & prints)
  7. Raises hand! I don't drink generally but I would on a cruise and it would definitely be a (vodka) Martini! 😀 What I find weird is that the healthcare industry considered moderate drinking to be 1-2 drinks A DAY. Their questionnaires offer the choice of 0 drinks a day or 1-2 a day. My 12 drinks a year don't really fit in either category.
  8. Why get wifi? I like to upload my pictures and video during my vacations because if I wait until I get home, I never get around to it. 😀 For the various Princess packages, I made a spreadsheet. And used Cruise Mummy's drinks calculator to see if I would drink enough to make it worth it once I subtracted out the things I would be paying anyway (wifi, gratuities, gym classes). It turns out it I would spend slightly more than the package on drinks so I got the package so I don't have to worry about how much I spend on drinks.
