  1. I know I have been behind on things having toomuch fun. Today we tendered into Halifax they did a great job we got up early and we were on tender7. We enjoyed the maritime museum for a couple of hours then went on a harbor yacht cruise for one hour it was nice there were only 12 people. Attaching pictures and menus from lastnight which was from thecaptains welcome.
  2. The Bahamian stew was a main dish. My husband had garlic prawns as an appetizer the first night that was very good.
  3. That was the Bahamian stew and it was very good. We are having fun I will read your reports too Honolulu Blue. Tonight was busy and will update tomorrow with food pictures we did afternoon tea and welcome chefs dinner all the food was so good. We have to be up early for tenders tomorrow so going to bed soon.
  4. We headed out this morning to trivia then up to the putt challenge on the princess links that was really fun. It is sunny but foggy so the fog horn is a blowing. We chatted with a couple at the bar for quite awhile and had some drinks the 24k gold margarita was really good. Went to the buffet for some small snacks hubby had salad I had meat and cheese and some spaghetti it was really good just enough until dinner. Went back to the room took a shower water pressure was strong I liked that and now am relaxing in my robe writing this. I have photos of the menu from yesterday and dessert from yesterday as well.
  5. Good morning from the Emerald Princess. First day was good. We arrived at the port around 10:30 and we were on board by 11:30. The line was long but continously moving. As soon as we checked in they said you can board now never had to sit in the wait around chairs. Then we headed right up to deck 15 to get a drink. We placed an order and waited and waited and waited. My husband went and got pizza it was good but MSC pizza is better. Then he went and got drinks from a different bar and the waitress who took our original order came by and said how are the drinks and we told her they never came. Ten minutes later they bring over the wrong drink order and still charged us granted we have the drink package but if I was paying out of pocket that would not have made me very happy. Anyways from there we went to International cafe and split a few sandwiches. They were really good except one brie sandwich that had really bitter lettuce or kale on it. We made reservations for Planks later on in the week and hung out at one of the back bars for a bit. I love the ship very pretty but we keep getting stuck at a dead end where Boticelli dining room is. Our rooms were ready at 1 so we went to take a nap. The room is nice the bunk beds stick out from the wall very far and my husband smacked his head pretty hard on it be careful. We did rest for a bit then we headed back out to play a digital game on the portal screens for a bit it is designed for kids but we are big kids so this is something we are going to love. It is similar to something they had on Disney Cruise called midship detectives. Can't wait to play it more today. We headed to dinner at the Michelangelo dining room at 5:30 for our dining reservation at 5:40. When we first got there it was not that busy but filled fast. The service was very slow with 40 minutes between the appetizer and entree. We worried we might miss the first show but my husband did good to ask for the dessert menu when the entree came which helped speed things along. The food was really good and nicely presented just slow. The worker was working very hard it just seemed like the food was slow in coming out. I took pictures of the menus and food but do not know if I can post them here or not. I will try. I will write more later but for now have to stop being lazy and get this day going.
  6. Thanks PacnGoNow!! We leave in the morning we are taking the bus to Boston. I did mess up a bit as I ordered the medallion to arrive at the port rather than shipped to our house which I hear slows things down but whatever we can wait. As long as I am on the ship in time all is well. 🙂
  7. This is going to be an after the fact trip report for our first ever Holland America cruise out of Boston to Canada where we visited 4 new to us ports. The trip was booked only a few months before and I felt it was worth what we paid. We had an interior stateroom with a couch which was fine for us as we do not spend much time in our room. We had the drink package, wifi, and a specialty dining included in the package we booked. I will break it down into categories to make this easier to read. ROOM: The bed was very comfortable, liked having the sofa so we had space to eat room service breakfast which was amazing. There was lots of storage space and our room steward did a great job. Bathroom was fine I do prefer shower doors over a curtain but no biggie. I loved that they had robes in the room. FOOD: We enjoyed the MDR very much. We went early every night without a reservation and service was great. I loved the salmon which I had several nights. I really enjoyed the classics menu with French onion soup and Cesar salad with anchovies YUM. My husband enjoyed the other fish dishes and the shrimp cocktail several times. In regards to deserts I had the cheese plate several times and enjoyed that. I thought they could have better dessert choices some nights but really enjoyed all of the MDR food that we had at breakfast and dinner. My husband enjoyed being able to get poached eggs as NCL has cut back on much of what they offer both in regards to food and entertainment. BUFFET: We ate at the buffet for embarkation day lunch, breakfasts, lunch, and late night snacks. We really liked the pre-made Asain and Cobb salads as well as the sushi. Late night snacks were a nice option as other cruises do not offer them much anymore. DECK FOOD: The hamburgers were so good we ate there twice. Fries were OK. The taco nacho bar was yummy too. SPECIALITY DINING: Pinnacle grill was very pretty and the food was delicious it did feel upscale in atmosphere and in food choices and presentation. The Morimoto by Sea popup was one of the best meals I have ever eaten with unique food options and presentation and the best service we had all trip long. They really wanted us to be happy and satisfied and were proud of what they had to offer as they should be. ENTERTAINMENT: We enjoyed the dance shows that utilized technology and the screen well to make the shows more interesting. There was a comedian that was entertaining as well as a port presentation about Canada that was interesting as well. We had something to see every night and after the show we could see a games how and hear music as well. We were never bored and it was a very port intensive trip. The small size of the ship was something we really enjoyed POOLS and Hottubs: The pool under the roof was great especially since the weather was cold and foggy. We did not go in the pools but did enjoy using a hot tub. It was nice to be able to find seats without chair hogs. Excursions: Were really fun we had a tour guide that played harmonica and another that sang and knew so much information about nature too. The guides made the long bus rides fun. The best excursion we took were to the waterfalls in Quebec it was beautiful and we stopped at a maplesugar house where we were given yummy samples of many different things like taffy, tea, and maple butter. FINAL Thoughts: We enjoyed doing arts and crafts and afternoon tea was so fun and yummy. We liked the drinks and bars in the evenings. Embarkation was smooth and rooms were ready by 11:30. Our last NCL cruise they were not ready until 3:30. Disembarking was easy too, we went to breakfast and then got off. We stayed in Montreal at the Embassy Suites for a few days and had a great time in the city. Video reports are coming out now on RompingRumpys youtube if you are curious. I will absolutely do Holland America again.
  8. Leaving from Boston on Princess for our first cruise on Princess. My husband and I love cruising and have done 20 plus cruises on all different lines. Our most recent one was out of Boston in June on Holland America which we loved. We have cruised the most on Disney when our kids were little followed by NCL, then 2 MSC, 1 Carnival, 1 Celebrity, 1 Holland America, and 1 Margaritaville. We are not married to one line and enjoy the differences among ships as part of the fun. On this cruise I will try to do my first ever live report. I am not a writer at all so it will likely be short and to the point. My husband does videos of the trips on YouTube. We are the Romping Rumpys.
