  1. Hi Ess ... It was great to meet you guys also, still putting the cream on my Achilles and ankle which is improving but still sore so doing my best not to walk around so much especially as both ankles are still swollen. It was so nice of you to go and bring the cream from your cabin.

We were in the Seashore dining room, this is where MSC falls down and let`s itself down with the Left hand not doing what the Right hand is doing, if Ipanema was turning people away then they should be doing the same in Seashore. I can understand the wearing of shorts and T shirts on the other nights though.

I was impressed that Marco Massa went and spoke to everyone individually at our meeting, I sent him a question via his "ask the Captain a question box" we received a reply and a bottle of champagne which was a nice to receive, have to say though that we both think Pier Paolo Scala was better lol.

The group photo was not so good though, at Xmas they took 2 by splitting the group but everyone who was there got both, well almost everyone we know of a few who did not get them.

We hope that you enjoyed the cruise along with Ros and Geoff along with Gill and her husband.

Hi Sidari, I love reading your reviews and information from the last six months. Would you be able to tell me what the current theme nights are? I heard there is a country western night but I wasn’t sure.

  2. Some pointers: if you prepurchase spa packages go to the spa ASAP when boarding to book times. We went at 2pm and they were already trying to give me 6pm slots to use.

The deck 8 buffet is much more extensive than deck 16. We haven’t had an issue with seating at either one.

Bar service: most of the time they appear to ignore you while you wait to place an order for a drink.... Miami Pool bar the worst. Sports Bar is impressive, they were fast, Jungle pool bar were friendly. Champagne bar usually quiet and service fast.

The atrium is beautiful... I enjoy the live music.

Specialty Dining: Butchers Block, had a group of 8, service super slow. A lot of confusion regarding who had what drink package (only 2 had classic the rest had deluxe) note there were about a total of about 6 glasses of wine available.

The Shrimp cocktail was wonderful, 4 huge shrimp. I had the fillet it was ok, they weren’t get the food out promptly, only one waiter serving us . Everyone got their steaks and then We waited for the sauce and finally the one side you get any extras are charged according. Presentation so so, the mashed potatoes smeared on a saucer, roasted squash comprised 5 slices of yellow squash, roasted cauliflower cold. It appears as on Divina the service in the specialty restaurants is still not SPECIAL.

We have 2 more dinners to go hope they are better.

Jamaica today, a little cloudy presently, it will probably clear I see blue sky between the clouds.

Does anyone know if you can book the spa appointments via the MSC app once onboard?

  3. It has been exactly 2 years ever since I did my last cruise review "Cruising on the Oasis of the Seas from a 10 year old's point of view. My brother is currently doing a review on it "MSC Seaside from a Teen's Point of View."

    Day 1 :

When my family boarded the ship, my dad and I went straight to the buffet and saved seats for my mom, brother, and grandparents. There was many varieties of foods to choose from the buffet. For example they have the grill section where they serve cheesburgers and hotdogs, my favorite section is the pizza section is where they have fresh cheeses from Italy and real Italian chefs in there cooking off of a brick oven.

After having a hardy meal, we unpacked at our cabin. Afterwards, I went into the Jungle Pool, which was my favorite pool because they have a glass roof covering the sun away. Do be aware that the pools are all salt water pools, I figured that out the hard way.

Then, with every cruise, there is a safety drill. The safety drill was like any other one. As we left the port of Miami, I enjoyed the scenery of it as we were sailing away. After watching the scenery I decided to check out the teen club on the 18th deck. The teen club had a bunch of people who were from Boston, because it was a school vacation where I live in Boston. The teen club also had a ton of video game consoles and games to choose from.

After meeting every one from there I decided to join my grandparents in the Metropolitan Theater and watch "Frank Forever" Frank Forever is a show about honoring the iconic singer, Frank Sinatra. The singers were great and the dancers were fantastic. After watching the show we went to go eat dinner with our family and ate at Ipanema, the food was great there and the waiters were outstanding. That was a great way to end the night with a great dinner.

Thanks for doing this, I’m going with my 11 and 8 year-old in a few weeks and look forward to reading this review!

  4. I saw a video of the gym and it looks like they have a very nice spinning room. Can anyone tell me are the bike in that room only allowed to be used during designated classes? Also how much do spin classes cost? Are you allowed to go in there and spin yourself? I will be going with the larger group on the May 26 sailing and several of us would like to do a spin class. We could also make our own spin class, just didn’t know if it was allowed.

  5. Does anyone have a very current premium whiskey list. I saw a list from January that showed Crown Royal was a standard whiskey but now my MSC Cruise guy is telling me it is a premium brand. I have the Aurea package, but wondering if I need to upgrade to the Premium drink package.

  6. You are lucky just to upgrade your husband! How will they know you are not having the items from mini bar etc and not just him?

Right that is what I was wondering, if you only upgrade 1 person does it include the minibar?

  7. Free mini-bar, premium alcohol brands, higher end drinks like the martinis at the venchi chocolate bar, more selection at the gelato bar (ice cream bars), etc. for $112 it was very worth it.

So I called yesterday and upgraded just my husband for $56 because he likes the premium alcohol. We are sailing on the Seaside my question is, does the minibar come with that upgrade? Mostly I’m asking because I just upgraded him and didn’t know if someone had done that and also had the minibar included.

  8. No cannot. But we were able to upgrade to the deluxe drink package for 56$ a person. With the upgrade you may use the minibar and get drinks from room service. We like to sit on our balcony and enjoy cocktails, so it is worth it for us.
