I called the main number this morning instead of the crown & anchor number and finally got through to someone who could help. Saved another $388 off 2 bookings. This was our second price reduction.

Had you originally booked using a travel agent?

I sent a message online detailing the discounts showing up - we’ll see if I get any reply to that. I spoke to a rep yesterday and today with no results. Ugh…

If I sent an email a couple of days ago about the pricing why haven't they fixed it?  That's what makes me consistently think bait and switch.

Thanks! Just tried to call and get the price I am seeing online but it was a no go. I think they are playing more of a game now with the sales and “new bookings”. In the past, if I saw a price reduction I could call and get that price no problem. Kind of disheartening 🙁

I just received this response from the executive office:

We reserve the right to correct errors in both advertised and confirmed prices and will do so as soon as we become aware of the error. Please note changes and errors occasionally occur and we do apologize for any frustrations with this.
I Just checked online and the price is the same cheaper price than I saw several days ago.  How much time do they need to become aware of and change?

I even tried booking as a new people with my sister's info and the price I saw online changed when I tried to book.  Bait and switch.

  5. $125

I would call it a bait and switch.  The price shown was not the price you would get.  I put thru a new booking on the website and a notice came that the price went up But when I looked online again an hour later the same low price was being advertised.

  6. While I was on the 3 way call with travel agent and RCCL rep, the online price lower than what I paid. They could not see the online price I was seeing. I Sent an email to RCCL yesterday.  Today I received a reply that for a lower price I should contact my travel agent.  I sent a reply email that they were missing the point and sent them the screenshot with lower price.  Will see what happens next.

Doesn't Royal occasionally do sales "for new bookings only"?

I don't see anything that denotes new bookings only.  I went further into and chose my room and was trying to buy it at the new cheaper price.  A notice came up on top of page saying pricing had changed.  And sure enough it was the price my TA had quoted...so must have been a glitch or a bait and switch going on yesterday.

  8. Saw a price on a cruise I have currently booked cheaper on RCCL website.  Called travel agent and he said price on my room was not any cheaper.  I sent him a screenshot but he said he didn't see that price.  He did 3 way call with myself and RCCL.  Rep stated price my TA was quoting the correct price.  Why is the price online for my room cheaper but no one can see it!  It's not after final payment.

  9. I am a little confused how you went from the November cruise to the October cruise.  I was told I would loose my entire deposit if I didn't go on the cruise I originally had booked.  Personally, I thought I would just lose $200 by moving to another cruise but my TA said I'd lose the entire deposit?  I had $1000 deposit on a suite and this is what I was told.

    1) I say No. The wife says sometimes

    2) I will pay them, some will say I don't have to pay them

    3) I fold or hang all clothing, make the bed daily and clean up continuously Our Steward usually tips me $ 150 per cruise. I'm a little out of practice on my towel animals, but I can produce a couple of them.

    4) Yes, I even bring my own potpourri

My son is 42 and he's asked his college roommate to go.  If he passes I'll be in contact.  Put your airfare to Galveston on hold for Sept 1.  Final payment is in a couple weeks.  I'm going gray.

    72 hours prior to sailing,

    1) Give me a Call

    2) Change the name to Neverbeenhere

    3) I'll be there

    4) Bonus: I'll actually thank you for the free cruise!

    5) the wife won't care - I'm earning my way to Pinnacle.

I may take you up on it!  I booked a room for my son and his family but they are divorcing, so evidently not taking her.  Family cruise and he still wants to go.

    1.  Do you snore?

    2.  Can you pay your own gratuities?

    3.  Do you leave your clothes on the floor?

    4.  Do you tidy the bathroom after use?

I did a 4 day cruise on Allure last month (can’t believe it’s already May). My GF was supposed to go on the cruise with me, but she ended up not going due to a last minute family emergency. I called RCI to cancel her, but it was too late due to the manifest already being turned in. So she was a no show and her taxes and port fees were returned to my credit card shortly after the cruise. Surprisingly I received double points for the cruise (I was in a CP balcony).

But did you have to pay an extra single fare supplement?
