Bonaire is one of our ports for our March cruise and we've also rented golf carts. Do you mind sharing what beach that was? I've heard there's great snorkeling, but didn't have any idea where to stop.

    Thanks!

Hi,  We did the southern route.  There are many stops along the way to snorkel.  You won’t miss them.  The beach we loved was Sorobon, it is pretty much at the end of the island.  There are several beach bars, one of them being Sebastian’s.  The water is the most beautiful I have ever seen.  It took about an hour to get there on the golf cart, we did stop along the way for a few minutes here and there.  The ride back is only about a half hour if you follow the map they give you to get back.   They told us about this beach at Bonaire cruisers, so. You could always ask them also.  you will love it there!  We wish we had gotten there earlier so we could have stayed longer!    Have the best time!

If you are going to go on Celebrity again I would stick to the new ships as they would draw a more lively crowd.  I will probably only do Aqua Class from now on for the spa perks and the service at Blu.  If for some reason I can't get Aqua, I would pay for the week pass for the Persian Garden and just eat most nights in the Speciality restaurants.  We were really spoiled with the service at Blu and at the Speciality Restaurants.  I agree the lunch and smoothies at the Aqua Cafe were the best!

Thanks, you are probably correct on the newer ships.  I am bummed we never got to any specialty restaurants.  By the time I decided the dining room wasn’t good, I couldn’t get any reservations.  Next time I will look into the week pass for sure!

We did miss the royal promanade that we love on Royal!   Seeing w have done most of the islands Royal goes too, I guess whatever line we choose will depend on the itinerary, unless we are going for a new ship!

  3. We were also on this cruise.  The food in the main dining room was disappointing.   The ocean cafe, was the same food everyday.  I enjoyed the spa cafe for lunch, wish I had found it sooner.

I agree the crowd was older.  My husband was disappointed with this.  There were a lot of couples that would waltz at every venue and I felt like the music catered to them.

This was my first time on Celebrity.  I thought it would be a step up from Royal, but It wasn’t.  We did this cruise for the islands, as we had never been.  I think we will stick with Royal.

Our favorite Island was Bonaire.  We rented golf Carts and found the most beautiful beach we have ever been too!  The water was crystal clear and you walk out forever and only be waist deep.

We still had an amazing vacation!   Loved the itinerary!

  4. Thanks for your help  glad I asked I was going to go to the Tuscan Rest  that would have been an epic fail    No we are driving to Ma and tomorrow is a 13 hour drive till I stop for the night  normally I leave by 5 am but not off a cruise

If you are doing walk off they will have a time and location for walk offs, not the same as the debarkation lounge for Elite.  The time and location will be in the debarkation information you will get.

Yes but do they let us off first?   Before the other walk offs?   Trying to get off as early as possible

  6. Hello getting on the Equinox tomorrow.  I was told that you cannot use your obc that you received to use in the casino.  Does anyone know the rules on this?  I always thought I could you my rccl visa obc points on whatever I choose.  Maybe it’s just the obc that I received when booking from celebrity?

    Thanks

There can be a lot of negativity on here, but I try not to read too much into it. The ship is very clean and well maintained, the crew members we interacted with were friendly and welcoming (several going above and beyond to connect with us and make us feel special), and the food and service was excellent! We were a group of 9 for this most recent one and had such a great time. I’m sure you will have the same great experience! Enjoy!!

Thank you!  I have been on 13 cruises, all with Royal.  I have always wanted to try Celebrity!  We are a group of 6 and I have never been to Aruba, Bonaire or Curaçao, so I am looking forward to it!  We will have a great time no matter what!

I was on this same sailing with you and I agree- it was a great one! I’m a big fan of Equinox 🤩

So glad to hear this!  We will be on the Equinox in 2 1/2 weeks, first time on Celebrity.  Heard a lot of negatives regarding the cruise, so glad you all had a great experience.  I am looking forward to it!

Depends on what you like to do in ports.  Rather than just staying in the local port areas, personally, we like to get a better appreciation for the islands we visit.  Having said that, we've done this tour twice and have really enjoyed it both times.  It takes you around a good portion of the island of Curacao.  Irie tours...  All west beach hopping.

    https://www.irietours.com/all-west-beach-hopping/

It's a guided open air bus tour with bottled water, and some beers if desired.  It takes you to some amazing beaches as well as the rustic north coast.  If you are beach people, or would like to swim with sea turtles, this is a great excursion.  The last beach you go to does have a bar, and some food options.  The second to last beach typically has a woman selling a few items that are like soft tacos/burritos but food options are limited on the tour fyi.

That sounds great!  I will definitely look into it. Thank you!

The ABC's are our favorite ports and itinerary bar none!  That alone should make for a great cruise.

Being your first time on the Equinox you'll have a few days, at least, just getting to know the ship. That will be fun in and of itself.  Sounds like your evening style will work well for this ship.  I wouldn't let my negatives worry you, we had a lot of positives too.  Happy cruising!!

Any suggestion as to what to do in Curaçao?  I have checked the boards but nothing is jumping out to me.  We are doing the golf cart rentals in Bonaire.  Are there shops near the ports?

Thank you so much.  All your information is helpful!

  12. Thank you for your honest review.  We are going on the Equinox the end of January, it will be our first cruise on Celebrity.  We are loyal Rccl cruisers.  We are diamond on royal, and will be elite on Celebrity.

We chose this cruise, because of the ports.  We have never been to Aruba, Bonaire or Curaçao.  I to love the promanade  on the Royal ships, so this will be different for us.

I hope this cruise doesn’t disappoint.  I am usually exhausted by the end of the day and like to go to the casino after dinner, then early to bed.   We have late seating for dinner.  I like to be up early for pool time.

I have always wanted to try Celebrity, so I am looking forward to it and the ports of call.

We were on the Enchanted Princess on the December 2 sailing and we had the earliest walk off we’ve  ever had, dis-embarked at 6:30 AM, sort of unbelievable. We’ve sailed on the Equinox 5 times since 2019 and walk off has been between 7:20 and 7:30, same with cruises on the Reflection and Infinity. All these cruises were round trip from Port Everglades.

Does everyone get in line super early to get off?

You didn't say what ship or port, but this is from the Reflection in Fort Lauderdale.  Walk-off was at 7:30am but there were plenty of people waiting to get off the ship before then.

I thought I Said Equinox, sorry and the port is Port Everglades.  Thank you

  15. First time on Celebrity, are you allowed to do walk off with your luggage?  What times have people been able to walk off?  I realize things happen to delay sometimes, I know nothing is firm, but just looking for what times people have been able to disembark.  We have a 14 hour drive ahead of us, so just trying to get a sense of timing.

    Thank you!
