We didn't try the Beach House this time, but have previously and I am probably the only person ever who didn't rate the lava steak...
Perhaps it's something to do with having to cook my own dinner😂
We had a fantastic late lunch in the Glasshouse, the day the Privateers were playing in the Atrium, that was a very pleasant afternoon.
Andy
The Glasshouse always seemed quite busy. Was the food very good?

As an aside, I'd recommend doing one of the rib safari's in Norway if you get the chance. I did the one in Haugesund and it was great fun!
Due to the open water it was quite bouncy and choppy.

I went to the Beach House on the Sunday (initially booked for the Saturday but they moved it till the day after because of the Celebration night) and had the Lava Rock Fillet steak which I'd say is well worth what you pay.
The rest of the time I ate in the Peninsular restaurant which had a good menu every night.

Now the dust has settled on a great cruise, just a couple of things have come to mind I think are worth mentioning.
In the MDR, it is absolutely OK to have 5 courses if you want them, just ask, we did most nights.
It's fine to have multiple desserts plus the cheese plate, we know, as Hyacinth felt she needed to try them all!!! (No food was wasted.)
It is also OK to mix and match from the menu, again, Hyacinth did...
So, if you want the beef, but would prefer the rice that comes with the curry and the veg that comes with the fish, that's fine.
Our waiters really earned their tips😂

As it was my first ever cruise, I must admit I really enjoyed the food, despite the large amount on offer. Although I didn't have the burgers or pizza on offer by the pool. 🙂
Btw, Did you go up the cable car in Olden? If so did you see the base jumper?

Not sure if you get a discount for booking in advance then?
Just checked my personaliser and also showing £9.20 for that evening.
Andy
Yes, that may be the case

This is my first cruise and loyalty discount is showing as zero.

Booked for the Saturday evening 27th April on Norwegian Cruise. In the various time slots available they quoted £9.20 for that evening but when it came to paying only had to pay £7.60.
Bit confused as to why the figure paid is less than quoted price.

It doesn't seem worth paying for the wfi-fi package on my upcoming P&O cruise as I won't need it that often, but wondered whether others have managed to get any free WI-FI whilst onshore in Norway?

I am on the Norwegian Fjords cruise 7 nights 26th April - 3rd May.
I just wondered what the queues will be like around 7:30am-8am on the Friday morning for taxis.
Am trying to plan a train to London that day. Obviously I could book a train for later in the afternoon to play it safe, but would prefer not to be waiting hours in the railway station, so wondered if booking a train between 10-11am would leave me enough time beforehand to get through customs & a taxi to the station assuming I get off the ship around 7:30?

National express run coaches from London Victoria to Southampton with fares from £5.20 and it takes about 2hr 30 mins.

Hi All,
First cruise with P&O.
Am doing 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise at the end of April on Britannia.
Currently I'm booked in a single inside cabin. As I booked very early on I just wondered what the chances are of getting a free upgrade when they allocate the cabins a few weeks before departure.

I know this is a long shot but has anyone on here returned from a cruise on Arvia on 3rd September and was in cabin 14701. On our embarkation we found a Garmin cable under the bed when we stored our suitcases. Plainly obvious that the steward had not cleaned underneath bed between occupants. Went to reception and they would not give me details of last occupier because of data protection and said if I handed it in they would just stick it in a box of items of no great value and would be eventually disposed of. Just a long shot and thought they might be on here and I could send it to them.
those types of cables can be purchased for a few quid on Ebay so probably not worth trying to find the previous owner.

I've booked a P&O cruise for next April and as I don't drink I won't be getting any of the drinks packages.
As the meals in the main dining rooms are included I just wondered what drinks are available with your meal as only wine (extra charge) seems to be listed on the menus.

I've now booked a cruise on the P&O Britannia - 7 nights in a single cabin - Norwegian Fjords - 26th April - 3rd May 2024.

Hi there, I'm hoping to do a cruise next year for the first time. I'm open to different destinations so am willing to set sail from any location.
However, as a solo traveller the cost of a single supplement can be quite prohibitive, and when I look at specific cruises all the single cabins seem to sell out very quickly.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do a search where you can see which cruises have single cabins available throughout next year, rather than by having to go through each cruise and departure date one by one?
Many thanks
Britannia today, any questions?

Believe it or not. The black dot in the middle of the photo is the base jumper taken from the cable car! 🙂
