This was last year.

We went from the Carribean Princess to the Regal last Dec. Carried our luggage, took the Princess offered shuttle bus along with about 20 other couples, to the Regal.
Very easy

The point is that one should be aware of pricing and just because it says "SALE" you may have better options.
I did not book earlier, but the nonrefundable deposit is a deal breaker at this time
-
The balcony on the cruise i was watching is the same price as two weeks ago but now with a nonrefundable deposit.

How close to the sailing date have you received an upsell offer?
One month? Two weeks? One Week?
Thanks!

A person really needs to be careful and watch and compare.
About two weeks ago, we were going to book the 6 day Coral Princess for Jan.
Price was $449 for an inside. Check last week it was $519. Now on Sale its $499 with a $25. credit.
Not much of a sale if you are watching prices.

Thanks! I was looking more for an average.....say plan on $ 200/day in addition to the cruise/air cost.
Great ideas everyone!

My wife and I are in the initial stages of planning a 12 day Med. cruise for Sept-Oct 2015.
Outside of the type of cabin and airfare costs, what should we plan on budgeting for the rest of the cruise? Most likely one day pre and post cruise stay.
This would be our first trip to the Med and would like to enjoy it!
Any advice would be of help!!
Thanks!

Yes we also was upgraded to a VS from a mini on a Sept. cruise

We have been sent several last minute offers in the past year. We retired to Ft. Meyers, FL a few years ago so its perfect for us. Fort Lauderdale is a 2 hr drive away and we found a great off-site parking company.
I think the best way is to look at Princess's Web site and search for some bargins. Also look at Cruise Critic often! Great information.
Before we retired, we only booked Balconies or Mini Suites, now we are more open to other rooms. We booked a 4 day last December for an inside room (never had that!) for $129 pp. Turned out we loved the room! Also received a credit for $129 pp for a future cruise.
We also found a 7 day Royal Princess cruise for last minute and with our credits, taxes, and trip insurance the cost was $715. for both of us!
Planning on two more this year! Its cheaper than any other vacation we found....so If you live close to a port....its an excellant value

I just spoke to a Princess rep (on 4/15) and was told they have been trying various variations on their ships. As of this date, it is available if you call Princess and pre-pay if you choose. Just give them 48 hours to process before your sailing date.
