The laundry room on Deck 7 has washing machines, driers and two ironing boards and irons. Washing detergent capsules are also provided for use in the washing machines.

    thanks

  2. So far no chance to join the bid option (not eligable but no idea why, fully paid cruise etc), sent email (and reminders) to azamara but no answer.. so far the worst customer services I have experienced on cruise companies... by far....

It looks like they simply don't care, maybe cruise is full and they don't care.. not a good service to be frank..

  3. Well close to the cruise maybe we have niw clear ideas about our selfmade Jerusalem tour next August 16th.

Please any suggestion or advise is very welcomed!

Leave cruiseship at 7am and take a taxi so to reach the Mount of Olives at abt 8,30. Start from chapel of Ascension, pater nister church, Getsemani, all nations church, ... 1,5 hours..enough?

Move to Lions Gate..be there at 10,30 and do all Via Dolorosa and Holy Sepulcher Church.

At 1pm ready to enter the Temple Mount area...if I'm rigth you can access it at 7.30/11 or 13.30/14.30.... Correct? If I enter at 13.30 I must be iut before 14.30 or once inside you can stay a little bit more? Which part I can enter as no Muslim?

So at 14.30 to the Western Wall

Move to Mount Sion to visit Cenacle and Dormition Church.

Back to Citadel..quick visit and back to the ship...maybe we have to use a different taxi because theh ones in Jerusalem are not allowed to enter the Ashod port.

So also good for us to know where there is an fee to pay to enter and which currency we can use.

    Thank sooooo much

  4. The Temple Mount is in the Old City, so I am a bit confused by your statement of "returning to the Old City". You can start there - take any bus that will get you to the Dung Gate and follow the signs to the security check for access to the Temple Mount (buses 1, 2, 38)

You will leave the Temple Mount through a different gate from the one you entered. You will be in the midst of the Moslem Quarter, not far from the Via Dolorosa. If you want to go back to the first station, you will have to back-track a bit but it is easy to find.

    Sorry for the typo...

    - move the visit to the Temple Mount in the afternoon.... so Mount of Olives, Via Dolorosa & Holy Sepulchre and based on the hour decide to move to the Temple Mount and take the Mt Zion as last stop

    - or start from the Temple Mount in the morning and go to the MOUNT OF OLIVES using the local bus (which one? from where?); from there back to the Old City (by walking how long?) and continue for the rest of our preferred stops. Any time restriction to take in account for the stops other than Temple Mount?

  5. A few observations regarding your plan.

You plan to leave the ship around 7 am and take a taxi to the Mt. of Olives. One hour travel time is beyond optimistic. You need to allow between an hour and a half to two hours - you will be hitting rush hour up to Jerusalem and in Jerusalem. If all goes smoothly you will make it in less than an hour and a half, but not an hour.

Access to the Temple Mount is only from the Mughrabi Gate which is adjacent to the Western Wall. It is open from 7:30 am to 10:30 am and then from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm only. It's not clear that this will fit in with the rest of your plan. Additionally, you will not be allowed into the Dome of the Rock. Non-Moslems are allowed up to the Temple Mount and can visit the plaza and see the outside of the Mosques, etc. but entry to any building up there is limited only to Moslems (this is the decision of the Waqf - the Moslem religious authority).

You can visit the churches on the Mt. of Olives and on the way down (Dominus Flevit and Gethsemane). From there you can go to the Lion's Gate and walk the entire Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This will take at least an hour - more if you stop for devotionals on the way and then allot time in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

You can proceed from there to the Jewish Quarter, the Cardo, Mt. Zion, Hall of the Last Supper, David's Tomb, etc and then to the Western Wall.

By now, it's not clear that you will still be able to visit David's Citadel (David's Tower) which is at the Jaffa Gate - it's all a question of how your timing works out, but it is very doubtful.

Thank you so much for your tips.

So I can see we have two options:

    - move the visit to the Temple Mount in the afternoon.... so Mount of Olives, Via Dolorosa & Holy Sepulchre and based on the hour decide to move to the Temple Mount and take the Mt Zion as last stop

    - or start from the Temple Mount in the morning and go to the Temple Mount using the local bus (which one? from where?); from there back to the Old City (by walking how long?) and continue for the rest of our preferred stops. Any time restriction to take in account for the stops other than Temple Mount?

    Thank you:)

  6. Thank you so much for infos. Here our draft plan... Any suggestion is welcomed...mainly on time to move from one location to another.

Leave from the ship at about 7. I see we need 1 hr by taxi to reach the Mount of Olives.

Visit the main places here and move down to the old city.

Visit the Temple Mount esplanade with the Dome in the Rock (what about opening time?) and the wall.

Move to the Via Dolorosa for the full Via Crucis up to the Holy Sepulchre.

Walk along the Cardo and the renovated Jewish Quarter. Ascend to Mt. Zion and visit the Hall of the Last Supper and David's tomb.

Back to the old city to the David Tower and Jaffa gate.

Back to the ship. Our ship will leave at 10pm so we think we can leave at 6pm.

    Suggestions or other useful infos?

    Thank you again.

  7. We need some advise about our next visit to Israel next August with Celebrity.

We have an overnigth in Ashod and we have already planned a tour to Masada the first day. The next day, August 15th is full for Jerusalem. So far we are trying to get a private tour but we are wondering if feasible to do it by ourself. We are used to do it during our holidays ut not sure if feasible for this stage.

So no restriction sbout timing because we have an overnight and the ship will leave late in the evening around 10pm. So we can leave very early in the morning and no specific restriction in caming back.

So some questions if we can.

Can we get a taxi right off the ship? How much does it cost the trip to Jerusalem? Can we find easily a tsxi back to the ship? Which currency we can pay? Euro or dollar? Or credit card?

In Jerusalem we want for sure to visit all Christian place starting from the Holy Sepulcrer... Due to the crowded people we could find do we have to start from here? Any restriction in the opening time?

So as plan we want to visit all the main sites...any suggestion as route to follow? No problem in walking.

    Thanks

  8. Hi!!

We are defining the details for next Cruise which will stop in Stockholm from August 17 (8am) to August 18 (2pm).

We already got a Stockholm Card (24h) to use it for both sites fees and local transportation.

We should be at S167 Pier - Stadsgarden.

Based on our researches we developed the following plan:

    1) We plan to walk to Gamla Stan: I can see we can reach it half an hour and it seems a nice walk; walking also to avoid to activate the Card too early to use it both days.

    2) Then we could stay in Gamla sourrondings waiting for changing of the guard (maybe including city hall or Royal Palace)

    3) After (aroung 1pm or as soon after the changing of the guard)) we'll move to Skansen by bus #47 (I can see ferry from Slussen is not included in the card) We prefer start with Skansen due to the fact it's a "open-sky" attraction and most of it close at 5pm and I think it coulb be nice to spend a long time here

    4) if we have time (I suppose yes) we'll go to Vaasa which closes ad 6pm

    5) then back to the centre/ship; not sure if we have time to take the historical canal tour at 6.30pm.

    6) any suggestions for the evening? We'll have a dinner on the ship but after we'd like to spend the evening in the town of course, maybe I suppose Gamla is the right place?

    7) the second day we'll go back to Gamla (by bus) and take the canal tour at 10.30am (if we missed the day before) and visiting City Hall and Royal Palace. I think we'd have enough time to be back to the ship at 1pm.

    8) in case we cannot visit Vaasa the 1st day, we'll anticipate canal tour the 1st day and visit Vaasa the second.

    Any advices?
