  1. I was on the April 5th Pursuit out of Miami and it was the first to be canceled.  As soon as the link was on Azamara website, I put in my request for a refund.  On May 2nd I received the ChoiceAir and taxes refund.  The cruise ticket was short $715.  I called them last Thursday and they had the total right but could not tell me where the $715 was.  I called today and it is coming but probably in 2 installments.  They only process refunds on Sunday night, so need to wait until next week to see.

  2. My TA was involved with the free nights to no avail.  But I did get a relatively generous refundable SBC.  Plus I did get the $300 for booking on board.

I know clockgate is a nonsense problem in the overall scheme of things.  In the future I will bring my own.

I was also on the b2b norway cruise, with the discount.  I had at one point booked it with my six free nights but could not pull the trigger on spending that money with a 200% single supplement,  so canceled.  Then the promo from a TA can out and jumped on that with a balcony.  Now they are not giving me single points for those 30 days.  Will see if I get those points back.

  3. I am taking this cruise to use my 6 free days.  Turns out I am paying @$1500 more than if I booked it myself. (I am a single traveler, so you know what the issues there are).  I booked on my b2b in july to norway.  Had to book something on lose them. I had to make final payment right away.  When I discovered the difference. I knew I would not get any money back but I thought something,  free wifi, beverage upgrade, they refused to do anything.  Ok.  We will make the lemonade.

Then I have an oceanview, no clock on the room.  Asked for one and was told there were none on the ship.  I did not believe it because I had one in july.  The person at the desk sent an email and I was told I miraculously got one.  Was made to feel special.  But found out they do have them in balconies and suites.  Really.  Not asking for much after all the money I have spent over 10 years.

My room has an uncomfortable chair for a short person, asked for a couple of pillows for my back.  Again no hard sofa type pillows available.  Given bed pillows.  Not ideal.

I was on crystal for the first time this year. And it was wonderful.  Think it is time for a change. Since clearly azamara could care less.

  4. I always am traveling solo. I have met a lot of people and pretty regularly we book the same cruises. They have a solo dinner every night. The 1st night usually hosted by the CD or the Activity Director. If you want to vary, go to the dining room around 7 and they will surely seat you with others.

  5. I used them in November for a TA from Barcelona. My bag made it to the port with no problem and no worries for me that I might never see my bag again especially on a TA with VERY few chances for your luggage to keep up with you.

It was not cheap though but I did have peace of mind.

  6. I was on this cruise too. It was terrific overall. I basically did not get off the ship but I did sit in the Living Room for 9 hours while we went through the Canal. As I commented, the passage was like watching paint dry or grass grow. But I would not have traded the experience.

Booked B2B Rome in September. Can't wait only 189 days to see the ship again.

Staff as always was wonderful. A lot remembered me from November crossing which is really nice. Pool bar and Casino bar staff is the BEST. Also loved Jul in the dining room, always sat us at the best tables every night.

  7. Thanks for sharing. You have met the finance of ALL the women on the ship. Love Eric. I have sailed with him quite a few times and his shows never get old.

You need to be on a TA with Eric. He does Bloody crossing trivia which is the most fun ever.

Unfortunately I am on the Journey starting Monday and Eric is leaving for vacation on Monday :(

  8. On the November TA which was 16 days, they did not post on the TV what the menu was going to be for the last 2 days. The TV will show you which day number the menu is.

I have seen where the Windows Buffet menu is posted in detail along side the MDR menu outside Windows. But on the last trip, it was only the theme of the day for Windows and no MDR menu.

Have never done the Buffet, prefer being served.

What do they do in the Patio for Dinner. Have not seen anybody post that.

    Again thanks Andy.

  9. Thanks Andy for the post.

I have traveling on Azamara twice a year for 5 years. I have been putting in the request that there should be some menu changes. They revamped the menu organization and put the premium wines upfront. They put the always available in with the daily selections. They added Escargot and Onion Soup to the always available. Quite a few nights, we have special ordered the Escargot and they were always very accommodating.

They also added the dietary needs for each item.

BUT ... very few new items. I recognize the majority of them.

Disappointed that they did not add pasta with a tomato sauce as an every day item. I really like the tomato sauce. I have the pasta with tomato sauce every day that it is offered in Windows at lunch. Fabio said that you could order it at dinner too. I tried it one night when nothing intrigued me from the entrees. The night thing I knew Fabio was standing behind me (Ladies that was a treat :) Fabio thought it was an excellent idea for the new menu. Oh well - maybe 5 years from now when they revamp the menus again.

So disappointed in the new menus - I really thought we would get a lot of new items. I guess it would be hard to revamp the entire menu for the kitchen staff.

  10. I am on the Journey at the end of February. Can't wait to see the new menus. I have been traveling with Azamara for 5 years and the menus have not changed (except to take Foie Gras off the menu). How many times can I have "Gin Fizzed Shrimp".

Dying to see the new menus.

  11. No they are not on the free drink list. I love drinking Pellegrino at all times and that is not on the free list, but I use my OBC to buy the water package, since there is nothing else to buy, and I am a happy camper. Maybe an upgrade would be in order, if you don't want to revise what you drink or you can bring your own bottle of Sambuca.

I also traveled a lot with Regent, until they priced themselves out of my single market. I am an Azamara fan now. Love the staff and crew. Regent cabins are definitely better but being the single person, Azamara cabins are big enough for me, (do miss the walk in closet) and I am never in it anyway except to sleep.

Enjoy. I know comparison are hard at first but ...........

  12. I booked an open passage on the Quest TA in March. I now booked the Quest in November for the repositioning cruise and I too was told by my TA that I could not use the open passage. I think that this is just wrong. Azamara has my money and what difference does it make what cruise deal I get, they are still getting my money for the cruise.
