Am booked on the April 15 very cool Pursuit itinerary. But was told this evening that snorkeling could be "small" groups of 10-20 peeps. 😞 Might need to brave 55 degree water at home to get the AOW. 😤 🥶 Will keep people posted.

Flavia, Have dived all of the AOW required dives in the past (not recently) - for the love of it - just never asked or thought to be certified for them. We live in a cold water area -55 degree water temp right now - too cold for me. Just returned from a long trip to NZ where I could have accomplished AOW but was not told it was necessary for diving on the Pursuit voyage. Only stumbled upon the requirement looking for something else on their website. Not eager to make another trip to warmer waters between now and the Pursuit in April. Am thinking of booking scuba with on shore peeps during the trip instead of using the included scuba excursions. Sigh.... Fitsylist55 - Your info has been really great. Thank you. Fla' and Fit' - Thank you for this info. Super helpful. I'm going to go with no expectations except for gorgeous seas and ship. Maybe will try AOW. Just means a trip between now and then to get to a warmer climate. Happy new year!

FYI, when I booked my trip, I immediately signed up for the SCUBA, not knowing about the Advanced requirement. Now the SCUBA option shows "sold out". So it sounds like they limit the numbers in total. Not sure what that number is tho.

Thank you! So nice of him and you. Problem is I am not sure there's time to get Advanced certification before the trip that I already booked. They didn't disclose this requirement in the pre-booking materials. Sounds like it could be really fun. Wondering if snorkeling would be as good.

Fitstylist55, Great info. Thank you. 2-4 dives on an 18 night cruise from Tahiti to Soloman Islands. Can you ask if there would be more snorkeling opportunities than 2-4 on that trip? Just learning now about the Advanced Open Water requirement.... Is the Pursuit fabulous?

Flavia, Any further information on SCUBA reliability on the Pursuit? I have the same question/goals/concerns after reading the one review that said most SCUBA and snorkeling outings were cancelled.
