  1. I went on April 2024- I put out a review on here for that ship. It was crazy crowded because of Spring break and clientele was rude and young teens acting nuts. But I did love Leon the CD and the layout was easy to get to know. The food options were great. It was clean. I would go back on it but not on spring break.

  2. I just had my 2nd cruise with Carnival Corp. and went with my 18 year old daughter for her 18th bday/ graduation celebration trip. I have been on Royal Carrabiean twice and Carnival Magic, this was my 2nd cruise with CCL.

     Review of Carnival Sunrise-

    1. Flew into Miami day before, stayed in Tru by Hilton in Bricknell district area, loved it, easy to taxi and Uber to and from airport and to cruise port.

    2. Embarkation- I purchased Faster to Fun- 100.00. We got on Ship around 11:15-11:30, easy process, moved quickly and did our Munster drill. We had backpacks and carry-on bags, not luggage, I checked that into the porter guy, but we went directly to cabin 1405 to drop off our big carry on bags and it was easy. The doors were heavy to pull open, but we did it, dropped off in the room and left. We went directly to Lido deck grab perfect sun chairs right above the hot tubs, and sun bathed until sail away party. No problems grabbing chairs, as we FTTF pass so on early in the first group.

3.First day- we had fully accessible cabin 1405, I had foot surgery and was in a boot and the room was in the aft of ship and was great. It had 2 twin beds and a roll in bathroom and couch, very spacious. Ate at Italian Cucina restaraunt- delicious, I made reservations weeks before.

    4. Day 2- Day 5: This was a spring break cruise, obviously I knew this. Along with me and so many other people who have posted on FB group, these kids were unruly, rude, no parent supervision and just unreal. They ran the hallways til 2am-3am in morning, loud, knocking on doors, cussing  non-stop. I get it, they are teens and tweens, but I was in shock how the parents didn't care at all. But My daughter and I had a great time and just ignored the craziness.

The staff was amazing!! Shout out to Ramon from Barbados who served lido deck and liquid lounge, comedy club. He was the best server ever and really took care of me and my daughter. Leon was an amazing CD and was full of energy and just so much fun. His mom was on the ship as a surprise and he introduced her to us and was so delightful. We went to every dance-singing show and comedy show, we loved it. Drew Fraser was hilarious and we enjoyed all the entertainment.

The one complaint I have, even ignoring the rude teenagers, was the little kids in all the hot tubs like it was a kiddie pool. We sat above the hot tubs every sea day and not one kid was supervised except maybe a hand full, adults could not go in those hot tubs, they were full to the rim with little kids like 5 year -12 year olds. I feel like Carnival should have signs or rules stating no kids under 16 , I couldn't even get in a hot tub one time, it was too full with unsupervised kiddos.

    5. Food- loved all the food in MDR and the pizza, the wok bowl, guys, and blue cantinna, sea day brunch.

6.FTTF-def will purchase again as we had a tender port this week and it was very handy and the guest service line- I used about 4 times and walked right up.

    7. SMOKE ON MY FLOOR- On my floor about 6 rooms down there was smoke in the hallway and deck due to a guy charging his  scooter in outlet and it smoked up, but Carnival was on it right away, the smell and smoke was unpleasant but staff did the best they could to fix it, and we just stayed out of our cabin until it was fixed.

8.Debarkation- it took forever and the line without passports, just birth certificates and ID-took 2-3 hours I heard. So they stopped calling groups for awhile. We had passports and finally left ship at 11:00 am, got right through the passport line no problems. Our flight was at 5 so we didn't mind the wait. I suggest bring your passport-easier

BLUE CARDS- Since this was Spring Break I did notice about 80-90% of the passengers had blue cards, first cruise, I saw hardly any platinum or diamond, not many gold and some red, but all blue, so maybe that's why people got so annoyed? Plus we talked to lots of people and they all said -it is my first cruise, so maybe that's why it was a little crazy.

I already booked December Celebration and excited.

I would suggest not going on the Sunrise on Spring break wait a couple weeks before or after Spring break.

The doors from the elevator lobbies into the corridors are closed, but diamond, platinum and FTTS’s are allowed to open the door to go to their cabins briefly to drop off luggage.  It’s a very heavy door, but it’s not locked.

ok that's what I meant those heavy doors

  4. I am Red VIFP and paid for FTTF, in the little black line at the bottom it says all staterooms are available at 1:30 including diamond and platinum. So as a FTTF paid customer am I not allowed to goto the room and drop off my bags and 12 packs of pop before 1:30pm,  I thought we could if we paid FTTF, that was the whole reason I bought it TBH. If anyone can clarify ? Thanks

  5. I wanted to decorate my cabin door for my daughters birthday on the Carnival Sunrise .Do you know if they are magnetic to put stuff on? And the walls? I know the last  cruise I was on the Magic- the walls were magnetic.

I just purchased some of the AARP gift cards and wanted to pay for our gratuities prior to cruising and the only option it is giving me to pay for it is either using a credit card or paypal. How do I add the AARP gift card on there to pay?

when you goto hit pay balance there's option for gift cards

  7. Is there like a beach or pool with wait service, cocktails, food, and fun? Not to far from port? But not like an all-incluive resort tp goto for the day.

I meant to put this in Jamaica--oops

  8. I am surprising my DD who turns 18 tommorow with a cruise for her and I on Sunrise to ochio rios and grand caymen. Can she gamble in a casino on ship? Can she be in serentity deck, and what are the age groups for the comedy shows? Also can she drink while we are in the ports , not on the ship but on land like at a restaurant? Thanks

There is no charge at the slot machines to access funds, but any transactions done at a table game or the Casino Cashier’s Desk will incur a nominal service fee of 3% each transaction.

What I do is I fund my S&S account with my credit card and use my S&S account for all onboard purchases and gambling. And then at some point before the end of the cruise (and once I won't be spending any more, or at least not much more) I go to the kiosk or guest services and pay off my balance with my gift cards.

when you do that does the money come out of your credit card right away or does it get charged (the cc) once you get off ship

While it is true that Cruise Cash is not refundable it is where charges onboard are debited against first, so if you buy them $100 in cruise cash the first $100 they spend will come from that source. If someone has a large amount of cruise cash they can also cash it out in the casino (put that amount on their player bank on a slot machine, make a couple of spins and then hit the cash out button. Take the slip to the cashier's cage. I have also used this method when short of cash.)

so I have about 1000$ in Carnival gift cards -I can goto casino and put that money on my carnival player card to gamble ?  This is why iI wanted to save them -was to gamble, so this won't be a problem? Plus they are digital E-cards. Not like the physical cards.

Yes, that's what we do.  I don't bother with cruise cash, I just have my gift cards loaded at guest services or a kiosk.

but can i use these at casino if i put on sail sign card? Thats my main thing i wanna gamble and buy in advance gift cards so i am "saving" for gambling

  13. Hi I have a bunch of E-cards from Carnival. I get them through my kids sports fundraising-Raiseright

I have used them for cruise cash purchases, but only 500 is allowed per cabin. Can I take these unused e-gift cards to a kiosk once on she ship to deposit? I will have about another 500$ to use. I want to put total 1000 on my sail sign card-
