  1. I have booked 3 cruises so far and all 3 have had major itinerary changes.

The primary reason we cruise is to visit as many different new countries as our (low) budget will allow.

The first one we were only informed after we had boarded the ship (Greenland had too much ice).

The 2nd and 3rd are not until January 2025 with Costa and are back to back  - the first of these has already had Jamaica and St Lucia replaced by Puerto Rico and St Kitts, and the second of these has had St Vincent and Grenadines replaced by a repeat stop.

I am now considering forfeiting the deposit paid on the 2025 cruises and booking a more efficient cruise to cover more new countries for a lower cost, as the replacement countries above are all repeats for me.

Does anybody know why Jamaica, St Lucia and Vincent and Grenadines have all been scrapped over 6 months out?

What would the most cost effective way be to minimise the chance of itinerary change after I book my next cruise?

  2. We booked our honeymoon for January 2025 and the itinerary has changed for the worse.

We booked directly and just paid the deposit.

Do we have any options available, or do we just need to grin and bear it?

Also, we booked an outside cabin but now I can see availability has come up for balcony rooms.

What would be the cheapest approach to upgrading our rooms?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Cruising in 6 days and will buy the wifi and laundry package in advance.

We don't plan to take any excursions as of now.

What else will save us money by pre booking?

I know some lines have offers when booking speciality dining in advance, eg a free bottle of wine if you book on the first night.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. We would like to rent a photographer for an hour, and buy the SD card with all photos on it once he is done.

I have found no way to find prices so far, including calling the helpline.

A 7 year old thread suggested info@ocean-images.com are the people who provide the photo service on board - I reached out but no reply.

We want to know the cost before we book the cruise as we are on a budget.

    Can anybody help with this?

    Thanks.

  5. I'm booking my first 2 cruises, back to back, Costa Fascinosa followed by Costa Fortuna.

    1. Compare all of the regional sites and book the cheapest one. Costacruises.eu was cheaper than both the UK and North American version for my cruises.

    2. Lock in the price for a week, then only pay the €50 deposit per person, as the overall cost is the same regardless of whether you pay upfront or not.

    Questions:

    1. Does anybody know any promo codes that we can apply to a booking with Costa?

    2. One of our cruises is already sold out of balcony cabins. What is the likelihood more will be released? Would we be easily able to pay for an upgrade if we initially book an inside or outside cabin?

    3. If anyone has any experience with these ships, what area did you find had the best cabin? We are looking at an aft facing balcony on Costa Fortuna.
