Agree on luggage, unfortunately no suite restaurant, but suite is normally ready by 2 or before. You do get a 3 hour happy hour normally from 5 to 8 , concierge is there if you need reservations for anything, he will also escort you off the ship at end of the cruise. We like the suite breakfast which will be in a specialty restaurant. You should get a email from concierge 5 days before you sail and he will list the perks you get .

The perks for Grand Suites on Explorer (Voyager Class) say private seating for breakfast and lunch.  What exactly does this mean? Special menu in private restaurant or just private seating once you go through the WJ line?  Thanks 😀

  2. I'm on the May 15th Barcelona to Venice (now Ravenna). I understand why Celebrity is ending the cruise in Ravenna but can someone tell me why they are cancelling the stop in Kotor and shortening the cruise by one day?  One shouldn't have anything else to do with the other.  It's not like we go on a Mediterranean cruise every other week. 🤷‍♂️

  3. The November 5th Jewel of the Seas Transatlantic cruise has had 3 ports cancelled and replaced with the Canary Islands. The November 5th Navigator of the Seas Transatlantic has had 3 ports cancelled and replaced with the Canary Islands. Same issue, weather related. Understandable. So what’s discriminating about that?

The discrimination is in the fact that Royal is giving the Navigator passengers OBC of $100-300 per cabin plus a future cruise credit for 25% of the cruise fare value per person on a future cruise. Royal isn’t offering Jewel passengers any competition!

As as a passenger on Jewel it seems ridiculous and short-sighted of Royal Caribbean to offer some passengers compensation and not others. We were both impacted by the exact same storm and extreme itinerary changes to both cruises. Having been a very loyal Royal cruiser in the past it makes me question if I want to continue cruising with them when there are so many other choices available!!!

Yes, for the timebeing we'll have to go "old school" and browse to find the roll calls.   Thanks for your patience while the Roll Call Tool is being worked on.

Same for RCCl. I think there is a difference if you use iPhone, iPad or computer. Also Google, Safari or some other browsers. CC is dead to me until they get the bugs worked out.  LauraS is wrong saying that she has the solution. It doesn’t work!!!

  5. Over the years it seems people have gotten a little more casual 10 years ago we took a Med cruise and my husband took a suit, a tux and a white dinner jacket and wore all 3. It was on celebrity and most of the passengers enjoyed dressing up. As of late you don’t know what attire to expect. Kinda sad

  6. I’ve never found Air 2 Sea to have good prices from SDF (Louisville). I tried them on a TA and were always higher. Now I’m trying them on a Baltic out of Southampton and they’re $800 higher than I can buy directly from Delta. I read about great savings but have yet found that to be the case for me. Glad everyone else is getting cheap air fares!!!

  7. We were on the February 24 Equinox sailing and were impressed by all of the waitstaff. The bartenders and servers at the pool deck and bar on 4th floor were our favorites, especially Denny who we ran into on several bars.

Of course I started out the week by introducing myself to all wait staff and gave them a $2 bill. It’s amazing what a little personal interaction and some kindness can do to improve your service. I gave the staff the highest grades on their reviews.

  8. Can anyone tell me if Embassy Suites is back up and running after the hurricane? Not staying until May but want to make sure everything is ok.

    Thanks

They do have a notice on their site that they will be renovating the common areas and expect closed off areas and construction noise.

  9. I often use a site that allows TA’s to bid on the cruise you want to take. I usually get 12-15% discount of some type, either OBC or reduced rates or perks. I really don’t get a relationship with the TA but I don’t need that having cruised over 25 times. Research is the key!!!

  10. They are also not very familiar to the money exchange places which makes it difficult for crew to exchange and if they are able to do so they get a lousy rate. You think you are doing something nice, and cute (and I do not doubt that you are doing it in good faith and with good intentions) but the reality is that a crew member would far rather have 2 nice new crisp $1 bills, since that is easiest to exchange and gets the best exchange rate.

I disagree, I was once on a private island where all the lounge chairs were already taken. I held up a $2 bill and had attendants fighting to get us chairs first. Now I get a pad of $2 bills and tear them off as tips. The novelty or the scarcity of a $2 bill always gets me special service everywhere on the ship and in ports!

  11. Looking for hotel in Cocoa Beach for precruise....have gone on other pages to see reviews but thought I'd ask here. Would like to have beach access.

    Thanks

Look at The Inn at Cocoa Beach. Down the beach near Ron-Jon. Great service from the entire staff, owners live at hotel. We stayed there prior to cruise and they let us keep our car parked there for no extra charge. Free wine and cheese at happy hour!!!

  12. We were in Rome several years ago staying for a few days on our own. Don't know how much time you have or what your priorities are. I can tell you they have great hop on hop off buses there. Very inexpensive and when you see something that appeals to you , you hop off and spend more time there they have head phones with English so you know what's happening. The Vatican is nothing short of amazing but you could spend a week there.
