    - I'm thinking you're new to cruising?  Know this:  Once you're onboard, you can schedule your next cruise -- they have a whole office dedicated to that topic -- or you can make a downpayment on an unspecified week.  If you do this, the cruise line gives you a bit of OBC (On Board Credit), which pretty much equals what your travel agent's offering.  Personally, I like to get the next-cruise certificate, so I'm ready to reserve if a low-price pops up online.

I'm interested to know more about this. How much is the discount for reserving next cruise while on board? I'm considering one already for Spring 2025 or Spring 2026.

And when can this be done during a 7-day cruise? I want to be sure it is a good vacation fit for family members. And for current cruise I reserved an interior cabin but can consider what for another reservation.

What are the deals with a CruiseNext certificate?

  2. New to NCL and trying to figure out the policies and math, and appreciate any advice.

Just one in our party drinks. I was told that we'd have to do the gratuities for Free at Sea beverage package for both adults, even though just one drinks. 7 day cruise but we will be off the ship for port times. It would be over $300 in gratuities.

How much is a regularly-priced drink on the ship? And in Alaska ports?

  3. I am sort of split on this. I booked an Alaska cruise on the late side, and got an Interior Cabin.

On one hand, it would be nice to get an upgrade bid accepted to Oceanview or Balcony, for some light and certainly to see the views and wildlife. Though, I hear other ship viewing areas are great.

If an upgrade bid were accepted, I'd have no choice over the side of the ship, or if the view was obstructed. I myself am not bothered by nearby noisy areas of the ship, not sure if my two family members would be.

Plus - my kid has never been on a cruise, and gets some motionsickness. I am not sure how this will be on NCL Jewel. The Inside Cabin we have is on a low quiet floor supposed to be best for that, and without paying more.

Not certain what to bid in this scenario! It may not matter because our cruise price keeps going up, it seems to be getting booked up.
