  1. I agree that 25% off full fare is NOT ENOUGH!!!!!!! they need to entice us to re-book and this does NOT do it. the sailings are all much more expensive then the crossing we had signed up for. We should be able to book something that is at least 25% less per day then we had booked before. We have to arrange air and land for another trip and schedule our lives to fit it in.

I hope they amend the offer so that we will be interested in sailing with them. that is just my 2 cents worth.

We have sailed with them before, are doing the Mekong in Sep (if it wasn’t so close I might cancel), and have a group booked in Europe for Dec 2019. If they don’t make this right we will cancel what we can and take our business elsewhere. Can’t imagune our travel agent will ever recommend them either.

  2. Not sure if a full refund, with a 25% off future cruise at Full Fair and must be booked by November this year is unacceptable. Some cruise lines offer much much more than what Scenic is offering.

I was looking forward to my cruise that has been canceled and have spent much time setting aside time, planning and arranging my trip.

Will see how this turns out it’s just day one.

    Assume you meant ACCEPTABLE?

  3. Is anyone else having issue rebooking? They have zero availability for our Antartica this year and can only put us on over a year from our original sailing that canceled for January. The 25% discount is a joke. We have been booked on this since Feb 2016 and with 25% discount on the current rates we will have to pay MORE to be delayed over a year. Not at all acceptable customer service recovery.

  4. Yes, thank you for doing that. That's actually quite helpful. I too, would expect the highest category suites to get priority. I imagine only the Chef's Table will be an issue. Fingers crossed we get to go!

  5. I believe that the head office for Scenic is in Australia so perhaps that is why they have been a little more informed (but not much more!). I will give them a call and see if that provides any further detail.

That would be lovely. Thank you. It's a tad bit more difficult for us to call from USA.

  6. I sent an email to Scenic in Australia and they said that on the Eclipse there will be priority dining based on cabin category, and while final arrangements hadn't been made, there was likely to be be two seatings per night in most restaurants.

That is definitely more than the Scenic USA people know (which isn't much), but still doesn't answer how the priority will go for folks within same cabin category. Is it like many lines that a certain number of days before a cruise you can book? Or first come, first serve (within your category) once you board? We love Scenic but they are always light on the details/information and the often give lots of conflicting information when pressed for details.

  7. Anyone going on the Jan 6, 2019 Ultimate Antartica?

Also does anyone know how the Dining Reservations will work? They have 10 venues, with some like the Captain's Table, being quite intimate. I assume there must be some system in place for those reservations?

    Not the Captain's Table...the Chef's Table...sorry.

  9. We are experienced world travelers, regular Ocean cruisers and First-Time River Cruisers. We choose Scenic because of the itinerary and their reputation (both online and from friends who have tried) for great all-inclusive service and food. We place service and food high on our list of priorities.

We are booked on the Scenic Ruby in early October in a Royal Panorama Suite.

Does anyone have any relevant info for us or anything we need to know? There are very limited reviews of this ship (we know it's one of the older in their fleet) and many of the reviews of Scenic are all over the place. Some are raves and others hated it. It's difficult to decide if those who hated it just don't like river cruising and it's unique challenges/differences, or does Scenic not know what to expect from American consumers?

Anything anyone can add, particularly when it comes to the mixed reviews on the service and food, would be appreciated.
