I know the "owner" personally. Not paid/affiliated in any way, just a great cruise/RCCL enthusiast!

On a non-US flagged vessel, trip between 2 different US ports must include a stop at a "Distant Foreign Port". For this scenario that would be South America below the Panama Canal, or the ABC islands (Aruba/Bonaire/Curacao). This is why all coast to coast trips or repo's include a stop at an ABC island or Cartegena, Columbia.

2 weeks ago we left Canaveral on the Freedom as normal. Medical emargency forced us to turn around and go back. We We sailed full speed From then on, but instead of arriving at labadee at 7am on Tuesday, we arrived at about 1pm. Stayed a little longer (till 6 instead of 4:30). Still a great day, all was well.

Explorer OTS. I believe she is headed to Spain for Drydock.

Actually it was two life boats short, both forward life boats were damaged. It led to a design change on the Allure and I believe a retro fit on the Oasis of plates installed in front of the forward lifeboats.
Yes, it was discovered that the forward boats were not adequately protected from the bow wave when Oasis made her initial crossing. There were protective plates added in front of the lead boats.
Since Allure was still being constructed, the davits for the first boat on each side was positioned one "space" farther back. You can see this by looking at photos of both:
Oasis has its boats arranged as 5 boats, space, 1 boat, 4 space, 3 boats.
Allure is arranged as space, 4 boats, space, 2 boats, 3 space, 3 boats.

Thanks again Radio for yet another fantastic live post!
just a quick comment on your last photo (that i think has been made before):
The finished Pier at Falmouth

The artist obviously made the effort to accurately depict an Oasis class ship. Makes me wonder where the inspiration for the other, obviously RCCL-style ship (with 7 balcony decks) came from... possibly a "slip" of Project Sunshine???

we upgraded from an E1 to a D1... is there any significant different at all?
A few square feet I believe. Same width, just a little less depth. You'll have a 3 cushion sofa instead of a 2 cushion!

Wife & I have been in cabins on both decks 8 & 9 and have no problems with the obstructions on either deck! On the short port intensive cruises you're not going to see that much anyway, and the obstruction really (imo) doesn't interfere with the natural light.
Last Dec. on the Monarch, we had a deck 8 cabin, and immediately upon docking in Nassau, got a front row view of the crew drills where they preped, manned, and lowered the lifeboats. Fun to watch!

I don't know that this is my absolute favorite, but it is up there.
Great picture. Not because of El Moro, but because of the 25' RB-S in the forground...my son pilots one of those!

Bee Line has been renamed BeachLine...
sailing to Cuba

Essentially what Cuba is saying is: "ok, you left us and took citizenship from another country. Fine, we don't want you back"
We don't have to like it, we don't have to agree, but it is their country.
