Just did the eco tour with Ketchikan kayak, it was great, there was a mix of experienced and non-experienced kayakers on the trip. I don't know if I would call it super adventurous as we were always close to land but we saw  eagles and other marine life. Would definitely recommend them if the times work for you.  The eco-tour with Ketchikan Kayaks follows the same route and the southeastern tour, just from a different launch point(Ketchikan kayak launched from the clover pass resort) based on the map southeastern provided.

    Awesome, thank you!

  2. I am trying to decide between these two kayak trips and having a difficult time understanding the main differences since I'm not familiar with the area at all. Can anyone provide some insight to help make a choice? We are in our late 30's, not new to kayaking and we like a little bit of adventure too.

  3. I am looking at Chilkoot Charters but can't decide on the 8 hour tour to Bennett or stick with the shorter White Pass Train. I have decision fatigue after researching so long. 8 hours seems like a long time to be in a train and/or vehicle but it seems like there are more scenic views offered closer to Bennett. Anything else I need to consider? This is my first cruise as well so I just don't want to feel couped up in some type of vehicle (ship, train, motorcoach, etc...) We are a couple in our late 30's, love nature and are kinda active. We port 7am-9pm so I guess there is time to walk around outside as well.

  4. Hello! I am jumping off this thread instead of making a new one to avoid repetition since it's similar.

I'm going on my very first cruise ever Sept 1. I've been doing research and see that Chilkoot is the way to go but still unsure which of their tours is best one. We land 7am - 9pm. My concern of the Bennett tour is that it's 8hrs and leaves little time for anything else in the area. We are a married couple in our late 30's who like nature, are active, and excited for Alaska 🙂
