  1. Has anyone booked the Couples Massage online before boarding?  Do you book under only one person in the cabin?    The pricing shows $275pp, but that seems more in line for the price for both people.  If it is really $275pp, its considerably cheaper to book separate massages for me and hubby.   TIA!

I tried searching on here for an answer, but keep getting a "community not available" error.

  2. Updating in case anyone else searches for this in the future. The dining packages have opened for my sailing, So I can confirm there is a form of a Chefs Table/Dinner at Butcher Cut.  From the description it’s not quite the same as in Royals but sounds good for a special occasion.

  3. Does MSC Seashore offer a Chef's Table?.   I've found a few mentions of it for other ships and it being located in Butchers Cut.  We have participated on Royal ships and always found them to be the best meals of the cruise, so I was curious if something similar was offered on Seashore.

  4. Good info!  Thank you Essiesmom.   I found some Youtube videos from onboard with cabins that have the combo, unfortunately those are already booked for the sailing I'm considering, but the two person only is easier to tell, so maybe if we are in the same area as those I saw on Youtube and go with a two person only room we might be surprised!

I am seeing Black Friday prices for refreshment packages showing up now.  Does that mean we can purchase at these prices early?  It's lower than the price I paid a few weeks ago but I'm afraid to cancel and then it may not let me get the new price.

You can purchase now. I purchased one yesterday and another today for another family member, both at the early black friday pricing.

I booked the package thru the Cruise Planner at $18 on the 1st of July and got an email reflecting  the price (with 18% gratuity) and confirming the transaction immediately after I booked.  Am I supposed to get another email?

I'm waiting for my credit card transaction to go from pending to confirmed.   🍷

I booked through the Cruise a planner as well. Received the purchase confirmation email. I see the transaction in my purchase history in the cruise planner. Credit card payment has processed. However, it doesn’t show on my calendar. Should it show up there? I also haven’t received the follow up email and I’m wondering if that is why.  Such a glitchy system.

How would you know the comings and goings of those in the lounge unless you spent the entire time there.   Also, how do you know the passengers were not suite guests?

    Thx

We did not stay all evening, would arrive approximately 5:30 to 6 and leave for our dinner at 7. We stayed enough time to socialize and have two drinks. I know several in the group were not suite guests as they told us they never booked suites and earned pinnacle the hard way. Same ones who told us that the group would eat in Windjammer and come back for the rest of the evening. Some of the others in the group may have been suite, I don’t know as they did not chat with us. My apologies, sorry I wasn’t clear on my point that my issue is with Royal not having a large enough area to properly cater to those who paid to be in there and those who have earned it. The cruise line needs to figure out how to take care of everyone.

If left unchecked the day is coming that suite guests won’t stand a chance in the SL.

We experienced this first hand last week on Rhapsody. As Suite guest, us and our friends who were also booked in a suite had a couple of evenings where we were not able to get into the Suite lounge at all before dinner or left to sit on this uncomfortable wall seat in the Viking Crown outside of the Suite Lounge. Fortunately we are all at least diamond and had the option of going to the larger diamond lounge or going to another bar and using our 3 drinks. As paying a higher premium for the Suite and it’s perks we were unhappy to not have full access to the lounge. There were several Pinnacle members who gathered in there each night filling half of the lounge for the full happy hour. Leaving shortly to grab a quick bite in the windjammer then returning to the lounge.

Royal does need to figure out a way to keep both those paying for suite perks and those who have earned perks happy without affecting each group.  I’m not for sure of the answer for this, though you had some good ideas. I hope they figure it out soon.

  9. We tip at least a $1 a drink but on most occasions more and always tip before we leave for dinner that evening.  Diamond lounge we seem to have a high turn over rate of servers and don't always have the same one, not for sure why that is. In the Suite Lounge we tend to have the same server all week and build up a rapport with them usually getting our Manhattans shortly after they see us come in.

  10. Has anyone used Sicily with Mario for a tour outside of Sicily. I see that he offers tours in Rome and Florence as well and was curious if anyone had used them in other locales.

  11. My inlaws had this offer on their Central Park room last week on Oasis. They choose to do Giovanni's for lunch on the last sea day. They went to the restaurant mid-week to make the reservation. They had the full lunch menu. A bottle of wine was already waiting in their stateroom when the boarded. Subsequently, we had a Boardwalk room on the same sailing. Two soda cups were in our room when we arrived and we did our dinner at Johnny Rockets on day 6, no reservation, just told them and they checked their records to confirm our stateroom.

  12. I don't know if it's an Oasis class thing, but I have learned to ask the stateroom attendant how long it will take, before I give them the bag.

We will go back to asking. We asked the first couple of times on Freedom, they said one day, never asked asked again and they were always returned the next night......until this time. No biggy, DH was just out of underwear. [emoji23]

  13. We were on the Oasis last week and did the wash and fold bag. The clothes were not returned until the last afternoon/evening. Our room steward said they don't return them until the last night. Now we have taken advantage of the wash and fold on at least the last 5 or 6 cruises and have always received our clothes back the next night. Is this just an Oasis/class thing?? We pack light and utilize this service, which unfortunately didn't work well at all for my DH this time.

  14. Just off the Oasis and confirm our bed in room 12729 had the egg crate topper already on it. While it slept very well the first couple of nights, by day 4 it had taken a toll on my lower back and I didn't sleep well the rest of the cruise. Even sleeping with a pillow under my knees didn't relieve it. [emoji20]

  15. We just had our first Boardwalk balcony on the Oasis this past week. 12729. Noise was our biggest dislike. I knew/understood that we would have noise during shows, but even at night while trying to sleep it was noisy. We had one night when they had left the music playing on the boardwalk, maybe johnny rockets, all night long. On the night of the white party there were quite a few instances of people yelling on the sports deck, not even where the party was taking place.

We had no issue with privacy. Closed the curtains while sleeping and changing, but the rest of the day it was open. If someone wants to sit and stare at us, they need to find better use of their time. [emoji23].

We enjoyed the soda package and johnny rockets perks as well.

Probably wouldn't book another Boardwalk though.

My inlaws had a Central Park during this same cruise and had no complaints.
