  1. HI,  just to reawaken this string.   Does the Mariner have comp classes?   Spin? yoga? Whatever?

I am curious, looking for 2024 cruisers that may have noticed or participated.  This old guy needs to "earn" his evening "imbibe-acation"  (I made up that word,  I think).

    Thanks

Does Regent send a confirmation email of the request for shareholder benefits?

I ask because I sent two requests: one for our upcoming Regent trip and a separate request for our Oceania cruise (thank you CC for alerting me to the need to make separate requests). I immediately received an automated email confirming the receipt from Oceania but I did not receive anything from Regent.

    Catherine

Catherine,  About 2 days after I sent mine in and got the automated reply I saw it show up on my cruise account "Manage this booking". It appears Under cruise details  "Shipboard Credits.  It was automatically divided between my wife and I. click on "View details".

    Hope this helps.

  3. This is fantastic news!   I have advocated for this for a couple years with NCL.  I am a US Veteran and have met several "Northern" Vets and we have shared a few cocktails discussing this.   I will be reaching out to them and letting them know.

    Thanks

Thank you. That is the online form I used previously (and was trying to use now). It looks like there may have been changes to the form.

Previously I remember a checkbox for requesting distilled water, and NCL would then reply by email to confirm that this would be available on the ship. Now it looks like the checkbox on the form is to notify NCL that I will be bringing distilled water, which is something quite different.

I will ask my PCC if she can make the request on my behalf.

I just check the Sleep Apnea and in the "Other" section at the bottom, I put "Request Distilled water in room for CPAP.    Been on 10 NCL cruises and always had the gallon jug waiting for me.

  5. While I have not had to use my TFL (knocking on wood) while on a cruise.  I have talked to the benefits people at TFL. I would highly recommend a call to them, as they explained it to me pretty well, but I am not sure that my fingers can thoroughly repeat everything.

A couple takeaways from my call were once you leave the US port you are no longer covered by Medicare.  However you are covered by the overseas portion of TFL, so while you may have to pay upfront and then submit for reimbursement, you would need to reach out to them within a 24 hr period (? please check this timing per time zone variance) .

They actually now have a TFL Overseas app you can download - the MyCare Overseas™ mobile app and to learn more, visit tricare-overseas.com/beneficiary-app

I hope this helps some,  The explanation I got was much more detailed.

I think you meant "CruiseNext"  if so then - You bet!   I do it all the time.  Once you get "certified" (for lack of a better word) as Military, it will automatically give you the military pricing, then you just apply the CruiseNext to your reservation and voila'.

I stand corrected and apologize,  I forgot that there are both a Cruise First and a CruiseNext.   However,   I also found out that you can use either in conjunction with your Military discount.   Enjoy!   Hope to see you at one of the Military appreciation functions.    So far I have 5 different NCL ship patches.

Can I use a Cruise First certificate and still receive the 10% military discount?  Anyone, Anyone, Bueller????

  8. I read that you have to give NCL about 15 days to be able to process your request.  When we bought our shares it was through our financial advisor and it was actually 2 days later that we had "officially" owned  the stock.   This may not be the normal delay as my request was late in the day and I was in no immediate hurry.

After we confirmed our purchase and got the shareholders proof of ownership,  I scanned in the completed request form, scanned in a sanitized shareholder document (they tell you to mark out the account #) .  Our experience is that they take about 5-7 working days to see it on my account, but could be longer.

This is the link to the benefits page.

Bottom line is I think that if your cruise is later in July, then you have a very good chance of getting this if you move soon.

    Hope this helps

  9. I have never been turned down because of a promotional conflict. My biggest issue is my own mistakes, last several times on both NCL and Regent I attached an outdated shareholder document.   First time, I did not know that they needed the "current" statement.  Last couple times I had my personal "senior moment" and grabbed an older statement.   I now have a checklist,  ask my financial to send me a current statement, scan it, attach it and once I get the acknowledgement, I delete it.   Guess I need bullet proof shoes to stop shooting myself in the foot.
