You can bring all the wine or liquor or other beverages  you want on board. Viking treats their passengers like adult, no nickel and dimming once on board.

We have our first VO cruise reserved for early 2025.

We are not big drinkers, we will have a couple of glasses of wine with dinner and would like a bottle in the stateroom. (We have reserved a PV cabin)

What wines are included with dinner?

I read that we can get a bottle of wine in the stateroom instead of liquor. Is this correct? Are stateroom alcoholic beverages included in the fare?

  2. Slightly off-topic

We are booked for the February '25 Journey to Antiquities cruise. We are booking pre and post extensions through our TA.

Our TA is offering a Pompeii and Amalfi coast excursion that looks reasonable. Does anyone have experience with Viking excursions in Naples?

Viking does not offer tours for disembarking guests. Once you get your flights you can figure out if you have enough time to hire a company for a transfer to airport with tour of Rome

    Well, that is disappointing.

We would like to spend a full day in Rome.

    Considering using a travel agent.

    Any recommendations?

  4. Apologies if these questions have been answered earlier:

We are new to Viking Ocean and haven't been on a cruise for 20 years. We have booked Journey To Antiquities (Athens to Rome) this coming February with Viking Air from JFK.

Does Viking book direct flights when available?

Our cruise starts in Athens - do we have a full day in Athens or is most of the day spent arriving and embarkation?

Our cruise ends in Rome. How are the excursions in Rome handled? Luggage transfers? What time would our return flight be booked?

And finally: We are in our early 60's and are pretty active. What age mix can we expect on board?
