Thank you to all the members for keeping this post going and for all the great information. Car rentals definitely make economic sense for larger groups of people, but since it's just my daughter and I, I'm really going to take a hard look at the NCL and non-NCL excursions. This trip sounds like such a unique type of cruise... not that I have a of experience, but a cruise where the ship is not the focus sounds very interesting. Thank you again for all the information and tips!!

Thank you. Overall Viator seems to offer almost the same excursions as NCL at a cheaper price point. I like the car rental idea but just booking a different excursion everyday might be less hassle (less planning) but more costly. Nice to have so many choices and options on the islands.

Did you book most of you excursions through NCL or Viator or a combination thereof?

WOW! So many great responses, thank you to all of you who posted. I feel like I have a really clear expectation for this trip now based on all the posted info. Being really active and only sleeping and eating on the ship would be great for my teenage daughter and I to stay on the go. She is still in high school and I work fulltime so time off is definitely a factor for us and this would be a great first trip to the islands for both of us. Sounds like there's a lot of planning to do with the excursions or daily activities and that's something I need to learn a lot more about. One thing I appreciate about cruises is the "whole package" notion where I don't have to do a ton of research and planning and can just pick the NCL excursions that would interest us most... it sounds like more planning is needed on this one. Thank you again to everyone that posted, all great and very appreciated information. I'll be checking out the Hawaii Port of Call room as well for more info on planning what to do at each stop.

Looking for some feedback on NCL’s 7 day Hawaii inter-island cruise out of Honolulu on Pride of America in February 2025 for myself (dad) and my teenage daughter. We did our first NCL cruise March 2024 in the Bahamas on the Sun and really enjoyed it. We are both pretty relaxed, go-with-the-flow personalities that don’t need fancy perks. We’re not foodies and I can pass on the drinks. Neither of us have ever been to Hawaii and I thought this might be a great first trip to see multiple islands. We are very active and would just try to focus on the excursions to experience as much as we can. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews on NCL's inter-island cruise on Pride of America. It’s also a bit on the costly end, especially when you include all the excursions and airfare. I’m just looking for some feedback on whether this cruise is worth the cost and if people who have done it, would recommend it to others for seeing and experiencing the islands? Or are there other NCL warm climate destinations during the winter months that exceed the experience of the Hawaii cruise at a better price point? Thank you!
