  1. So, we are 6 days into our cruise to Scandinavia and NOT buying the drinks package was the right decision. I did forget to mention that we had $200.00 on board spend and this is covering us at the moment for all our drinks as we don’t drink much at all; plus, we brought the 2 bottles of wine on board that you are allowed to do and some fresh orange juice so this is all working well. Regarding the WiFi, you are in port for 5 consecutive days with only 2 days at sea so if you don’t really need it 24/7, just use your own data as most of the major phone companies recognise Europe as a place where your data can be used without any consequences. So, all in all, it’s working fine for us but thanks to everyone for your constructive comments and feedback. As a side issue, we have really enjoyed the Princess cruising experience and would certainly book again in the future if a suitable itinerary were available.
  2. So, having looked at the Plus package for the 2 of us, this would be just over £800.00 for the eight days and the gratuities charge per person would amount to approx. £197.00 for the 2 of us giving a rough total, dependant on the actual exchange rate of just short of £1000.00!!!. Not bothered about the WiFi as we would just use our own data when in port and can't see us consuming anywhere near that value of drinks. Think we will just pay as we go to be honest and get the tips deducted from the onboard account and then just tip the people we want to at the end.
  3. Thanks for all the information; that's certainly given us something to think about.
  4. First time poster and first time Princess cruiser so I was just wondering what the protocol is with the tips and gratuities scenario on Princess cruises. Always been with P & O in the past and they let you tip whoever you want based on the level of service etc. so any guidance would be helpful. Also, are the drinks packages worth it? We aren't big drinkers but some friends of ours said we might be better getting one but do you just buy one package which covers the drinks for both of you or do you have to purchase one package each? The website is not very clear about this. Again, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
