We've used the CL on Anthem, Ovation and Quantum, they've never seemed that busy, it's a lovely view but not sure whether people are put off with walking to the back of the ship past cabins, and Suite guests have access to Coastal Kitchen so may just choose to congregate there.   I hope they retain them as a CL though.

It was a bit strange walking thru all the cabins to reach the lounge especially when the cabin attendants were trying to work and had to stop what they were doing to let the people pass.

  2. Just came back from Anthem yesterday. I was in pain the whole time. I felt like I was beaten with sticks every night.  I felt the same on Adventure  in May. I heard another lady in the hallway complaining to her family about the same thing. I thought initially it was an isolated incident on Adventure but after Anthem for the last two weeks it was the most painful experience for me. I asked the cabin attendant to put something underneath. He tried  but it did not help. I am now concerned for our future cruises that we have booked on Adventure. I don’t know how to solve this mattress problem. Prior to this May trip on Adventure I never had a problem with this. I am in a way glad to hear that I am not the only one feeling this way because I was starting to think I am nuts.

  3. We were on the same cruise 5/12 and 5/19 back to back. I agree that the whole ship was catered to Spanish speaking people. It was assumed you spoke Spanish no matter where you went. Everyone was speaking Spanish to us even in ports because the ship was from San Juan. We sailed Adventure same time of year for 3 years in a row but this time was the first time we experienced such a difference. Everyone in our group felt like were on the all Spanish ship. We enjoyed adventure out of San Juan for three years but after this cruise in Freedom I am afraid will be the last time at least for a very long time.

  4. I am not flaunting my status. I do not wear my pin, I don't have a sign. I have cruised multiple times and enjoy the experience. I don't care what lounge I am in; I just want the relaxing experience that the list of perks said I receive. I don't know what your problem is, but my comments were straight forward and not belittling. Don't introduce your mean self to me anytime soon. Thanks.

I agree that comment was not nice. I agree with your post it was not belittling or sounding like you ever wanted to flaunt your status. The lounge is a perk and not a status flaunt. I don’t know why some people think that enjoying cl is about flaunting the status. My husband and I also enjoyed the option of cl in the past. The service was more personal and the atmosphere in the cl lounge was more intimate. On our last cruise the diamond lounge was packed and was hard to find a seat. The waitstaff was overwhelmed and could hardly keep up. There were not even plates for the food they displayed because they could not bring them out fast enough.

It’s not about just getting a drink it’s about enjoying the company and atmosphere . For us it’s a big part of our cruise experience. We really enjoy going to the lounge before dinner to unwind. We always preferred concierge lounge because it was always calmer.

  5. I guess in New York no one starts school until after Labor Day. We will have to remember that fall break in the future. This is actually the first time we are experiencing this. We have sailed this time of year for the last 6 years. Yesterday we had few teenagers laying down on the floor in the hallway. I had to step over them to get to the elevators. They thought it was super funny. Girls and boys all stretched out on the floor.

  6. That many people weren't pulling their kids out of school as most schools in the South have fall break...many schools have it for a week and some for only part of the week...we had off Wed-Friday and headed to the beach. There were lots of people from KY, IN, and TN where we stayed. If you want less kids on your cruise, you need to stay away from the 2 weeks surrounding Columbus Day as that is the typical Fall Break time.

Wow! Fall breaks already? It seems like they just started a school year. When I was growing up we never had any of those days off. My cousin and I would stand outside in the middle of winter with no jackets on hoping to get sick so our parents would keep us home for at least one day. If we had this many breaks as they do now we would never have to do that ;p

  7. We are on Allure b2b and last week there were more than 800 kids. This week there are still many but not as many as last week. I was wondering as well if parents pull them out of school. There were many school age kids.

We purposely book after school starts so this was not expected. Even as I type there are so many kids running around outside our cabin that the floor is shaking.

  8. I have been waiting for mine since 2015. It's a total scam. I was just in Cozumel this past week on Allure and went into the store where we made our purchase in 2015. They kept making tons of excuses. I showed them the paper they gave us. They told us they are researching it now. They had a person on site who filled everything out but now they tell us maybe we put wrong information. It was not wrong since we checked everything he wrote. After calling them they can't even find us in the system. Now they told us they are checking again. I am not counting on it. We saw the shopping guy from the ship in the store so we told him. At first he acted surprised but after I told him about all the reviews he kind of admitted that people have problems. I just wish they addressed this on the ship. I am never buying anything in Cozumel again. Prices are also higher than other islands because they are trying to give you that tax incentive. We prices one particular watch In Jamaica and Cozumel. The prices are fixed by this company no matter where you buy it. In Cozumel it was 1000.00 higher. That's when again they started about tax back. Very shady.

  9. Hi all,

I'm just wondering what's the likelihood of the Eastern Caribbean (1 Oct Fort Lauderdale - Bahamas - Puerto Rico - St Thomas - FL) changing itinerary due to the hurricane?

I know the itinerary was changed from St. Kitts due to there being an issue with the ship (and it running slower) so realistically would it be possibly that they could even change the route?

I've spoken to my travel agent but they have no information yet.

I know I have over two weeks ahead of sailing but I'm just trying to figure out what may happen.

    Thanks,

    Becky.

We are in the same position. We have back to back booked October 7 on Allure. I am sure they will have to change the itinerary with the huge distraction on the islands. I hope we get to find out soon. I am so sad about all those beautiful islands. My heart goes out to all the people. We looked forward to sailing Easter Caribbean. It is our favorite.

  10. That's what I was thinking..

If this is your first RC cruise, how do they know they love you so much, based on your casino play, that they comped you a suite. I have been on these boards a very long time and have NEVER heard of such.

I agree. We sailed Rccl since the late 80s and my husband practically lives in the casino on sea days and evenings and never have we been comped a suite or any other room. They have a great casino Royal program that offers certificates at the end of the cruise based on the play, drinks, and casino rates. They do offer free cruises for certain dates thruout the year but it's always an outside cabin. So I am not sure how a first time cruiser gets comped a free suite based on his gambling. We never ever got upgraded for free either on Rcl.
