I am doing something similar in July (except staying only one night in Venice on either end of the cruise). I found several hotels near Piazzale Roma (including the one that NCL uses for twice the price of booking directly). This location is where the train is as well as buses and taxis from the airport. We are staying there then getting the train to Trieste. Our cruise leaves on a Sunday but there are still trains about every 40 minutes. Cost of the train with a reserved seat is around $20 pp. (for a fare we can change). My understanding that it is walkable to the port from the train in Triest  (about 1/2 mile to a mile) or we can get a taxi

There is a bus also available from the airport but there is in my one bus and it is almost $80.

When the cruise is over, we are taking the train back to Venice and spending a night then taxi or bus to the airport.

I also looked at hiring a private driver so we could add on some sightseeing either before or after the cruise but it was a little pricey.

We don’t plan on having a lot of luggage and are able to walk but it

Thank you for the info. Any ideas about Covid testing? Are there places to go and get tested before the cruise?

  2. Hello!

Im leaving on a cruise from Venice (Trieste) in the middle of May. We are getting to Venice 3 nights before the cruise and want some recommendations on  where to stay in Venice.  I also want to know the best way to get to the port from the hotel (we were thinking of going back to airport to take the NCL transfer but there has got to be a better way?)

Testing: since we  are getting to Venice 3 days before the cruise we need a place to get a Covid test. Has anyone been to Venice recently and can recommend a place that has covid testing? I was thinking maybe the proctored test using hotel wifi?

We are staying a night after the cruise and are looking to stay in Trieste on our last night before we fly home the next day, so any recommendations for hotels in Trieste and Transfers back to the airport would be great as well.  Thanks in advance!!

  3. Hey everyone!

my cruise on the Anthem of the Seas stops in Port Canaveral for only a few hours. I have a 2 year old but not bringing a car seat. So I was wondering if there are any car services/taxis that have car seats that can take us to the cocoa Beach brewing company when we are there. Or if anyone has any other suggestions on easy things to do there For a few hours besides the beach/Ron Jon.

    Thanks!

Whew!  Thank you for the clarification. 😁  One, some children love the soothing sound of the ocean, leave the balcony door partially open, that way you can hear them and they may sleep soundly.  Two, do you have an iPhone and Apple Watch?  If so set up your iPhone on a tripod and have the display set to never turn off, and open the camera app and have it pointed at the bed.  Then you can use the Apple Watch's camera app to view what your iPhone is seeing.

Haha you are welcome. I can totally see how it sounded really bad. We have a sound machine we are going to put on for

    him.

That’s actually a great idea with the phone and the Apple Watch. Thanks!

Not one to judge, but what happens if he runs into trouble?

You could watch him choke to death while you try to make it back to your cabin.

Ok guys let me make it more clear I see this is causing a little uproar and I can totally see why. By me not being in the cabin I totally mean my wife and I being on the balcony so we can keep an eye on him and not have to go in and out and make noise. He is a light sleeper so we definitely don’t want to have to go in and out. I would never leave my child alone and go wandering around the ship… just want to be clear on that.

  6. Hey Everyone!

So has anyone ever successfully set up a WiFi camera (such as a Wyze cam) on board. I have a 2 year old and would love to be able to have him nap without us being in the cabin but be able to keep an eye on him at all times.

I have the Voom WiFi package and a travel router but not sure if that’s going to work so figured I ask if anyone has ever done this before.

    Thanks!!

There's plenty of capacity with a large parking garage plus outdoor parking lots used if the garage is full.

Last I recall the rate is $22 per night but I don't know if that's changed.

There aren't any good alternatives. Parking at the Port is best.

Sounds great I will just do that. Thank you!

  8. Hello this will be my first time sailing from cape liberty. I will be driving in. How is the parking at the terminal. Is there a lot of parking and what is the cost for a 7 night cruise parking? Any other options?

    Thanks!

  9. Hello everyone,

My family and I will be cruising out of Miami in December. We have a 2 year old and don’t want to bring a car seat because we won’t be renting a car. What is the best way to get to our pre cruise hotel and to the port. Will Uber drive us without a car seat? Are there shuttles available?

    Thanks!!

  10. Hello Everyone,

I am now platinum and I see I get a complimentary meal in cagneys or le bistro for 2 and a complimentary dinner in la cucina or

moderno. How does this work? Is there a rule on what I can get? Any restrictions. Do I just make the reservation then when I pay it will automatically not charge me? Thanks in advance!

    Mike
