I wish the daily gratuity was added into thisÂ
ABSOLUTELY, as it's pretty much a mandatory charge!

Hi
Â
We are first time Royal Caribbean cruisers and wanted to understand what suite perks are part of being in a Grand Suite on Anthem of the Seas?
Â
Does the lounge admit Grand suite guests and does it serve alcohol through the day? Just trying to weigh up drinks package options and suite perks.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Thank you all in advanceÂ
Did you read the Suite FAQ on RC?

Pandering? OMG! 🙂 Yeah, that's why Royal built a gorgeous new terminal in Galveston to pander to the minority. It's fine - why showing state pride is offensive to some people is just amazing. I would never think twice about it when I am in another state. It's great that there are other states people can sail from since they find it annoying to sail from Texas. What I really loved is when they had the longhorns on Voyager. Guess that would really send some people over the edge!!!
Pandering all the way... from the live entertainment, and recorded music, to the stupid texas flag that's painted on the bow of the ship (that's Carnival though). There is a suck-up factor unheard of in any other USA ports. I can understand the Chinese Market specific ships but this is weird.

Do they do this for any other state? I've never seen it before.
Â
It seems that the cruise lines have a penchant for pandering to texas. That's irrespective of the fact that their bread & butter are the other coastal states.

Back-up plan for them to keep the expensive inventory filled if there is a cancellation between now and sailing date.
They just LOVE re-selling a stateroom after someone cancels when in 100% penalty 😞 Should be made to sail w/empty stateroom in this case as it's been fully paid for!

Just a question and not trying to be funny.
Â
What is the big deal with lobster on a cruise ship?
Â
Regardless of the cruise line we find that the lobster in the MDR is very small, lacks any flavor and never a Maine lobster.Â
Â
And now the lines are charging extra for a second serving.
Â
Happy Cruising!Â
I agree! Although a nice change having Lobster on the menu I wouldn't let it drive any of my decisions on-board. Some lose sight of the fact that this small, "glorified jumbo shrimp" (1/4 Lbs. tail) is not that expensive...

Pretty sure that the max # of passengers on-board any Antarctic sailings is LIMITED by law.

You should ask whoever you booked the meeting room/Private Event with.

So I listened to all the folks saying Celebrity is expensive. Â So I got a quote from Regent for a 14 day Japan cruise all inclusive with airfare in a Penthouse B suite with butler. Â It came out to ONLY $49,000 for two pax. Â I just about fell off my chair.
Â
I realize a better comparison might be a veranda cabin which I’ve peeked at before on the website but never formally priced out.  But since Celebrity includes a butler again in all suites I wanted to compare butler for butler.
Â
However I still don’t quite see how Celebrity is more expensive than THAT.  I’m not quite ready to spend that much on a cruise.  Unless I get free toilet paper.
Silly comparison... not in the same league!

Depends on the current & imminently projected weather.

One is on the Liberty with the only port of call being Bermuda - we are fine with that, we went there on a cruise on Anthem years ago and wished we had more time to explore Bermuda, so that solves that problem as we would be there for 2 days.Â
Â
The other option is on the Symphony but it goes to ports we aren't crazy about: Port Canaveral (meh), Coco Cay (big yuck for us), and Nassau (meh).Â
Sounds like you just answered your own question.

We did it on the Edge or Beyond... the Full Monty w/wine paring a few years ago. One and done for us!
Chef's table on Royal was just as good, if not better, and roughly half the price.
They give you a HUGE coffee-table sized cook book (~five pounds) at the end which although nice is inappropriate for travelers.

Probably Odyssey again in fall/winter/spring 2025/2026, unless there's a mutiny in 2024/2025 for no indoor family pool.
I concur! Silly ship deployment for a cold weather port. What are they thinking...

Royal knows if you have booked Specialty Dining and could, if they wanted to, release the table to MTD even if you don't inform them. Dining in buffet is a different story.

Could be.

I know it looks like they enjoy it, but I think it's somewhat degrading for the waitstaff to do it.
Dance monkey dance... NOT A FAN! 😞

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm not a fan of it either.Â

Would have booked Carnival if I wanted dancing waiters 😉

It's a new LOW if you ask me. The staff is stretched thin enough as it is... screw the dancing, where's my drink?Â
