  1. We booked one last year. Chose our cruise on the last day available. We choose a Christmas cruise. Upgraded to a balcony and then to a suite. No issues at all.

The BB we got this year. Received it on Monday and tried to book on Thursday. ALL 7 day cruises were not available. They are capacity controlled and already snatched up. We finally found a 4 day we could take, but only option was to upgrade to a suite.... So we did :)

  2. My kids xmass presents are going to be wrapped in boxes, in wrapping paper and gift bags with tissue. Does that mean those aren't allowed either? I'm just wondering what others have encountered since the new policy because we bring on things all the time from hand sanitizer to tissues to paperwork and none of that is flame resistant.

Oh no! Inside your cabin is fine. I was referring to the door decorations, hanging in the hallway that we had outside of the cabin.

  3. I packed a small Christmas tree and got some cheap scene setters from the dollar store.

1 was Santa looking in the window and I hung it on the balcony door. The other was a fireplace and I used command hooks to hang the stockings.

For door decoration I made a Christmas tree and made little present boxes underneath that had candy canes and wrist bands you could take. They were a big hit with guests and staff... With the new door decorating policy, I am sure that wouldn't pass.

  4. I do not think you are stupid. We are in our 30's, in good health, with stable jobs and approved PTO. Last December, through no fault of my own, I totaled my car 13 days before our cruise.

This August the night before we left for our Anniversary trip, I tripped over my own suitcase and broke my shoulder.

Insurance is more than worth it. You pay for homeowners insurance and car insurance when you rarely use it... But in the instance you need it, it is a life saver. Trip insurance is no different unless you can afford to throw away your vacation money.

  5. I think your letter is very nice and thorough. I do respectfully disagree with you though and the debate over the American Table certainly has me intrigued.

We have cruised 13 times and I was sick to death of the old menu. We had the same dinner over and over.

The lack of tablecloth does not bother me. I think the wood tables are beautiful and I was actually surprised when I had the American Table for the first time because I had read so many reviews of how awful the dining room looked and I thought it was beautiful.

I love the pitchers of water because sometimes we used to wait and wait for someone to come fill up our glasses and sometimes even asked for 2 water glasses it was so bad. Now we can just fill up our own and both times we had the American Table we were kept with fresh and full water pitchers.

We have not experienced any wait staff confusion and thought they worked more as a team and that we were actually able to interact with all of them more instead of just the main waiter.

We also had our silverware replaced with each course so that was not an issue for us.

The first time we experienced the new menu we were with a party of 9. (3 families) and everyone thought dinner was amazing. I don't want to cruise on a ship now without the American Table. We have done it twice and I have yet to have the same thing twice.

  6. We cruise in July. I am excited to try it!

After 10 cruises... I know the menu by heart and what is being served for dinner. This summer we will be on the Ecstasy then spend 1 night in Miami and get on the Breeze for 8 more days. I was concerned we would feel like we were eating the same thing over and over.

I also read horrible reviews about the Sunshine... Got on the ship, had a fantastic cruise and loved it. So, I take these complaints with a grain of salt... And really... If it's a nice table and it's clean... who really cares if it has a table cloth on it or not?
