From what I have been able to tell, things for this cruise are a little different since this is a charter. It looks like normally this line is an all-inclusive (booze included) They needed all documentation at booking and also required that I pay taxes for two even if I was going by myself.

I've gotten documents from the booking company but not from OpenSeas or the Cruise Line itself yet. I'll be following up about that on Monday. I already have a stateroom assignment though!

I saw that there's a G&L Roll Call Sub Forum, if we don't have a roll call in there already, I'll create one and we can move the convo there and see if there are any other CC'ers going. It would be fun to do a meet n mingle - I have always loved doing those.

I just booked it via an Interline company and created a Roll Call in the Roll Call Forums. Not really sure what to expect, it sounds like it'll be a very club / white party kind of scene - not really my style; but it checks off a lot off my trips & cruise to do list. Mediterranean, Barcelona, Ibiza, Gay Cruise; plus the interline rate that I got was just way to good not to pass up - got outside cabin for $179 + $149 tax/gratuities!

No charge if you all do not drink. A few days before your cruise send a note to JH on his fb page requesting a room and expected number of people and give an idea when you want to do this.

Do the ships enter international waters when leaving LA and the next day's port is Catalina? My bud and I are taking a 4 day and are toying with the idea of buying the cheers program and wanted to see if we'll save on the taxes.

No bottled soda is part of what is offered for free, and only Coke products are served from the fountain.

An Italian soda is a drink made from carbonated water and simple syrup, usually flavored. I've never had a canned one. Usually I make them at home with Torani syrups bought from the supermarket.

Are Italian Sodas available on the Fantasy and if so, are they part of the free drinks or are they an additional charge?

I booked it in mid January, and surprisingly it's been a fun wait.

So I booked the 5e GTY and earlier tonight they assigned me cabin 7688 - Aft cabin with the mega balcony! This is going to be an awesome birthday cruise for me! I've been checking it out online and have seen people even putting up hammocks on the balcony :-)

Has anyone done the Twelve Metre Regatta in St. Maarten and/or the St. John Champagne Catamaran Sail and Snorkel in St. John/St. Thomas, USVI? Just wondering how they were and what times were they offered? Do you get enough time after to have some free time on the island?

Wow, I've been on 6 cruise, 5 of which I participated in the CC Roll Calls and I never heard of FEs! LOL Well, one of the things I always loved about CC is learning new things about cruising! I assume people just make their own ones?

Outside the stateroom door is a message holder. Most of them are shaped like a fish, some are a starfish or sea horse.

 

A Fish Extender is a small, pocketed hanger that hangs from the fish.

 

When you join your Roll Call, the Fish Extender gift exchange is a sort of Secret Santa gift exchange that is set up there. People will sign up and then on the cruise you slip little gifts into the other Fish Extenders participating. Typically there is a cut off date that everyone needs to sign up by, in order to allow those participating time to complete their gifts.

 

NOTE: Not all cruises have Roll Calls, and not all Roll Calls do FEs. If you do a search for "Fish Extenders" you might find other groups that are doing them.

Has anyone done this private dining option? Is it an additional charge above the Remy charge? I can't seem to find anything more about it on the website other than it's available.

My BF and I are thinking of celebrating out birthdays on DCL, his is the day after mine. Has anyone ordered the in-cabin birthday decorations and the special cakes?

Just booked this cruise - the price was just too good to pass up for a nice little getaway.

Anyone have any suggestions on an inexpensive place to stay before our cruise? Would love to have a place that had a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and then again to the cruise terminal, but I'm being real - lol. Something that was easy to get to from both places.

Got a great deal at the Holiday Inn Downtown Tower and Suites, supposedly it's just 1km from the pier so I'm guessing it should be too hard to walk from the hotel to the pier. Also been told there are plenty of wine and liquor shops within walking distance so I can get my wine to take on board there and not worry about checking wine on my flight.
