  1. We will be docking at Amber Cove in the fall of 2022 and this will be our first visit to the Dominican Republic.  We will avoid the falls, so the most likely excursion will be a tour of the city.

I see that Iguana Mama and Marysol offer some of the same type tours.  We will decide whether or not to include a beach or the cable car or just go to the museum, plaza, etc.  I also notice an Isaira Tours.

Trip Advisor has good reviews for "Rigo or Leonel"

Does anyone have experience with any of these companies?

  2. The last time we were at Sanchos was back before they had an AI option.  Our last few times in Cozumel my wife and I have enjoyed Nachi, but will be returning soon with our 21 year old daughter who would like to enjoy an AI.

I know at Nachi we were limited to one appetizer and one main selection, but all drinks. It was still plenty of food.  Does anyone know if Sancho's works the same, or are you allowed multiple appetizers, meals, etc?

  3. My 21 year old daughter and I will be in Belize and she has requested cave tubing with zip-lining if possible.  I see that combo offered by various vendors and am mostly looking at Cavetubing.com (Butt's Up) and cavetubing.bz

Their prices are similar (.com is advertised $10 cheaper) but the provided lunch is a tamale vs the stewed chicken, rice, and beans of .bz

However, from the descriptions I'm assuming they use two different zipline courses since .bz has constructed on one their own property.

Does anyone have a comparison?  I realize it will be a more abbreviated tubing trip to include both but she has never done either and wants to experience both.

  4. It's a pity you weren't on the cruise that ended the day you got on. Although I wasn't with them, I've seen plenty of photos of over 200 members of the Widow's Sons and wives (Masonic motorcycle riding association) who were on that sailing.

I can assure you, there were plenty of 40 somethings with tattoos, many of whom are also professionals. No one would have even batted an eye at you :)

Still, I am sorry your experience wasn't as good as it could have been. We've sailed Carnival several times but not yet on the Triumph.

  5. The one thing we didn't like was that the floor supervisor told us when we arrived that THEY take the dog to the bathroom and neither of us could come along.

My wife has been using guide dogs for the past 20 years. Admittedly, we've always chosen to leave her dog with friends or family when we've cruised because of excursions we have chosen to do in ports, so we have never experienced any of the multitudes of configurations that I have read about for ship relief areas.

However, we faced a similar situation a few years ago in the airport when we asked about a relief area. We were told that an airline employee would take the dog alone down to the tarmac. Needless to say, my wife insisted on accompanying him and they relented.
