  1. DH and I are are on the Regal Princess inaugural Caribbean Nov 6th sailing. It has been an awesome trip. With the cast of the original Love Boat sailing with us, the wonderful weather, this exquisite and elegant ship, last night we were graced with a performance by Charo! WOW, she did not disappoint. Passion, energy, laughter and just pure fun is how I would describe her performance. She is a true STAR! I dele like I have come full circle, watching The Love Boat as a teenager and now sailing on her newest ship, watching one of it's greatest stars. Thank you Princess, you did not disappoint once again.

  2. We have sailed on the Grand, Star, Crown, Emerald, and Ruby all on the Dolphin Deck in a mini-suite and we love these cabins and the open balcony. They are roomier than other balconies (other than a suite). Even though they are open, we never feel our private space is invaded. Also, it can be fun to see who else is out and about during sail away. That's when there is the most activity.

  3. Carolyn,

Thank you for the Live posts. I love the coffee from room service or "Cabin" service as you mentioned. It is one of the things I always look forward too on our cruises. Just love sitting out on the balcony, drinking my coffee and savoring the start of the day.

Enjoy your cruise and your first balcony.

  4. Also, you can make reservations earlier in the day for Anytime Dining. Since it was introduced, we always choose it. I have found that it also depends on the cruise and what is going on that day. Some cruises, we never had a wait at all, some, we have had waits up to 15 minutes. We love that we are not looked into a set time.

  5. They cannot. Once on board, call DINE. Honestly, I've never had trouble getting all the reservations I wanted.

Agreed! We have never had a problem getting the Crown Grill, our preferred specialty restaurant, on the evening(s) we want, even if it is a last minute decision.

Now, if you want to do the Chef's Table that's a whole different scenario.

  6. I have hard enough time with 3 choices, let alone 20. Yet, to stay current with customer demand RCCL is catering to a mass audience and I agree with the one poster that the app does streamline the process without adding FTEs. To be sure, their are going to be many who like those additions. :p

Princess does offer the Sanctuary and The Enclave (Royal & Regal) to all passengers for an additional cost which is nice. You do not have to book a Suite to get those amenities if you which to pay for them. ;)

  7. Yeah, I agree with all the others, this is one island I would not rent a car, especially if they drive reverse of the US. Four of us rented a car in St. John a few years ago and my husband drove for the day. St. John is a very easy island to navigate, however, it is reversed of the US for driving patterns since they drive on the opposite side and my husband was exhausted by the end. We still joke about it. Yet, if you are adventurous, go for it.

  8. We rented the golf cart and had a wonderful time exploring the island. There are some wonderful vistas. Also, we had a wonderful lunch (we were not there as part of a cruise but another trip) if I recall at the Country Club, which also displayed the history of when the Chicago Cubs used to go to the Island for spring training. Enjoy your trip there, we did just exploring the Island.

  9. So hard to choose, they are all wonderful ships. Grand was our first Princess cruise, so that has a special place in my heart. Also, love the Crown as we sailed her when she was first sailing out of NY. Then the Emerald is a favorite as we sailed her on one of our best cruises ever. Also, love the Royal as she is a beautiful and elegant ship.

  10. Thank you for the positive review and I could not agree with you more. DD and I were on the Royal this past March and loved the Enclave. We would go in the afternoon, were it would be more crowded. With you going at the end of the day, I would not think many people would use it then as they would be at dinner or a show.

Going to be on the Regal next month and looking forward to trying the Enclave then, it is one of the things I am looking forward to most on our cruise with DH.

Again, thank your for sharing your wonderful experience. :p

  11. I was on the Royal in March with my DD and I treated both of us to the Enclave. It is well worth the expense to go and relax, especially if you have a lot of sea days. We used it everyday on our cruise. MY DH and I are going to be on the Regal in November and so looking forward to doing the Enclave again. Enjoy!

  12. Your 35th anniversary? Do it, $600 isn't alot of money and you can always replenish that, but the memories of that suite on your anniversary will last a lifetime. :D

I agree with WendyG, do it and savor every moment. We love the breakfast in Sabatini's and all the other little touches. Also, Happy Anniversary!
