    Hello,

'English' bacon is available in both MDR and Windjammer but NOT room service. The problem is that it is cooked either under a grill or in the oven and the rashers are overlapped and become 'welded' to one another during cooking so a self-serve single slice in the Windjammer is an impossibility.

Sausages vary in quality dramatically. Post Indy refurb the 'English Bangers' were sourced from Germany and had a taste hitherto unknown to man. What's more they are just pointed in the general direction of the grill and never spend any time under it.

Fried bread is not always available in the Windjammer - it seems to alternate with French Toast. The finish varies - it is not usually fried but 'deep fried'. When available it is better than P&O's whose fried bread is over an inch thick.

Avoid Corned Beef Hash. Needless to say mine is best, but there seems to be no set recipe on RCI as I've unearthed any mixture of vegetables in it, and it comes in a variety of colours!

    Regards,

    Cublet

I would KILL for a slice of that fried bread right now.  Just when I thought I'd be able to stop dreaming of it, SOMEONE has to go mention it.

We loved our CD on The Adventure last summer! She made the trip so much fun! It was "Hello Chlo..." Her Assistant was "Magic Marvin".... Both super fun!

This year it looks like we might have Dan Whitney and I'd love to hear feedback on what to expect from him as a CD? Don't get me wrong, we will love the cruise either way, but it would be nice to know!

    Thanks in advance!

Dan was AWESOME.  He did a great AM show, and was really funny doing the sexy man and belly flop contests.  Can't speak for the Quest or Love and Marriage, though.  He was very approachable.

  3. Realize that for a B2B, you can take your 2 allotted bottles for each half of the trip. It will be collected on boarding the first cruise and returned to you for your second.

Question:  Am I allowed to bring alcohol onboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship?

Answer:  Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other use.

Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned. Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under the legal drinking age, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Conduct Policy. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them. Please Note: All guests must comply with TSA guidelines for transporting liquids.

On boarding day, guests may bring onboard two (2) 750 ml bottles of personal wine and champagne per stateroom in their carry-on luggage. If more than two bottles of wine and champagne are brought onboard, including any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports-of-call or in our onboard shops, they will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on your last day onboard.

Guests on consecutive cruises may bring two (2) 750 ml bottles of personal wine and champagne per voyage, per stateroom. Additional bottles will be stored by the ship and two bottles at a time will be delivered to the stateroom on the first day of each new voyage. Guests bringing more than two bottles at the start of the first sailing should have documentation for any consecutive sailings available to share with security on boarding day.

  4. Hey, everyone.

Booked the Aqua Adventure Park excursion in Costa Maya.  I see where it says the tour (trip to the waterpark) is from 930 to 1230.  Do we really only get 3 hours at the waterpark?  If that's true, would 3 hours be enough time for my kid and me to do all the water slides and lazy river?

  5. Booked our March, 2019 cruise in June of 2018.  Cashed in 50K of MyVegas credits for 100 OBC.   Called RCI at the end of June, 2018 to add the credit and they did.  About 3 weeks ago, I used that credit towards a drink package.  The OBC does not go away and you will not lose it even though your cruise isn't within a month.

  6. In March, 2018, my then 9 year old (51 inch tall for reference) girl did the Aqua park in Labadee by herself while I watched from just outside the roped off area..  Everyone was required to wear a life jacket, even the adults.  She had some degree of difficulty pulling herself up onto some of the floats, but she was able to get up.  I just asked her what she thought of the water park and she gave it a solid 9 out of 10.

  7. Morning. Warning of a small rant here...

I'm on Indy for spring break next year. I'm finding it hard to believe that all of the drink packages are now so much higher.

The soda package that has been 8.50 a day for YEARS is now 9.99 (which is a "discount" of 10% over the onboard price). Can the soda package really have increased that much - or is it because of the Freestyle machines now on the ship?

The refreshment package is 26.00 a day now, and that's a 10% discount too.

I've heard of 30% off the refreshment package for "upcoming" cruises - not sure which ones - but I've yet to see this for Indy.

Is there a chance that maybe on Black Friday, these prices will somewhat drop to prices I've become accustomed to?

    Thanks, all..

  8. Just as an FYI, it doesn't matter WHAT kind of card you have from your doctor...TSA is not supposed to ask for (or demand) one. Reason being, a card like that can be forged or made up on a computer, and as such, holds no water with them.

    Full disclosure,I work for TSA...

  9. i laughed to myself at the "prefessional caregivers " status you gave the AO staff. They are for tge most part, basically young adults who probably have a desire to work with kids when they "grow up".

As for the in room sitting, they are not volunteers... they get paid a generous hourly rate, and I'd be surprised if there was an age limit. but that's just me [emoji6]

Just so you're aware, all of the "young adults" you're talking about have degrees in (mostly) early child care. These aren't 10 dollar an hour babysitters.

    From the RCCL press center:

All children’s activities are supervised by male or female youth staff that must have a four year University degree or international equivalent in Education, Recreation or a related field. All staff also has at least three to five years qualified experience in working with children ages six months to 17 years. Nursery staff must have the same above qualifications as well attend a 30 hour Nursery Training where the curriculum and hands on experience is in line with Florida State Standards of care.
