  1. Is it worth booking an excursion in Prince Rupert? If so any recommendations. Is the town close enough to get off ship and walk around? We have been to Victoria previously.

  2. Do you think the delays in embarking and disembarking could be due to the lack of shoreside personnel?  Like any other business in the Bay Area I'm sure they are having trouble finding workers. Most of the staff that works in the terminal are retires, and I wouldn't be surprised if the company that hires them are having a hard time finding enough staff.  We have sailed out of SF about 5 times and every time on disembarking it was almost impossible to find a porter to help with bags, I can only imagine how hard it will be on our next cruise on the 30th.

Your positive spin on events is distracting from the gloom & doom; you may even cause us to actually get excited for our upcoming Apr 11 sailing.

By the way, as you get closer up the coast towards SF this afternoon, could you let us know how much rolling you are experiencing as high coastal winds/waves are expected.

Expect rough seas tonight, big storm heading into Northern California Sunday night

Currently on the Ruby.........husband is on day 4 of quarantine....... I went for my day 4 test today and the medical personel ran out and caught me as I was getting on the elevator and told me I was positive within minutes of testing.

I have gone to the same cabin as my husband.  The first 3 days he had a terrible time getting through to room service and ordering food but after several trips by me to guest services they have finally got it worked out.  The maitre 'd has called twice and apologized and someone now calls and ask for order and what time he (now we) wants our next call/meal.  Glad they finally got it worked out!!!!  The first few days was frustrating to say the least.

Day 4?, hasn't ship only been out for 2 days?

Pre-boarding testing was pretty efficient if somewhat backed up.  Many, many cruisers were unaware that this was a requirement for our cruise.

There is a very large TA hosted group onboard.  800+ passengers.

Dining reservations fully booked almost every night until 8:30 pm, and 30+ minute wait at 6:30 for Anytime Dining.  Only 2 of the 3 dining rooms are open.

The buffet dinner selection was in one tiny section on one side of the buffet only.  When I inquired if this was the whole selection, the buffet manager thought it would be a good time to tout how they also had pizza and hamburgers on the pool deck as an additional dinner option. 😒

Hoping this is all first day kinks that will smooth out.  In the meantime made reservations for Sabatinis tonight because it's the first formal night, and I have a hunch the dining room situation won't improve just yet.

Sailaway was beautiful weather, and so far the seas have been really smooth.

We will be with that TA group on the April 30th cruise to Alaska.  They do a wonderful job, free transportation to and from cruise terminal and free gifts onboard.

My cruise on the Ruby leaving SF on 4/30/22 has a stop in Victoria, and excursions are listed

We are also on this cruise, if they cancel Victoria no big deal. We are scheduled to be there only 6am till noon. We don't plan on getting up early. LOL

  7. It's for Mexico, but there is California resident pricing for two of the Hawaii cruises. I think it was Nov/Dec 2018 time frame, out of San Pedro and San Francisco.

Thanks, I’ve been watching the Hawaii in April on the Grand
