  1. and pray that the one in the room doesn't break. Wihle getting ready for dinner one afternoon the room dryer wouldn't work. I called house keeping and was told they had no more available. By the tone of his voice it seemed he could care less and my call was just bothering him. So we did the best we could without it and went to dinner. Later we told our room attendant and she called her boss and was told that there were none. So i went to the front desk and asked for help in getting one , and got nowhere. I told the concierge in the Diamond club and he wasn't able to get us one. The next day i told our room attendant , that the Captain was holding a meeting where he would take questions later in the day and i was going to go and ask him why we couldn't get a hair dryer. You could see by her facial expression that was something she didn't want to happen. She quickly told me she would take care of it. In about 15 minutes, here she comes with a hair dryer...

  2. We've been on Freedom twice now and it will be the last, it's an awful ship starting at the top with the Captain and officers. It's no surprise that they received an almost failing grade with the health inspection, the worst in the fleet.

Our impression is that the crew lives in fear from the ship officers and their hard line or mismanagement approach I should say.

I think you nailed it. We sailed the Freedom back in October ( our 3rd Freedom cruise) and quickly picked up on the lack of the usual friendly staff members around the ship. We got the impression that the crew members just weren't happy.

When they held the ask the Captain and his Staff questions meeting on the Promenade , we noticed that they were not very friendly in responding to questions and seemed to be agitated at some of the quests for asking questions they didn't like.

We just got off the Independence a few weeks ago (April) and the staff was very friendly.

Maybe RCCL will read all the posts here and address this issue.

  3. If 100.00 per swimsuit is cheap, then they were cheap swimsuits. I am just wondering did you go in the pool with your expensive swimsuit or did you hang out on your balcony.

In ladies swimwear higher price usually only means better styling , lined and better straps...for the most part it really doesn't mean it will stand up to the chlorine any better than a $30 swimsuit.

  4. Having sold Dye to Textile manufacturers for over 30 years , here is the scoop. Swin wear is suppose to be dyed with specific dyes that meet certain standards such as Color fastness to chlorine , and standup to a certain amount of hours for lightfastness, and also what they call cold water bleed.

Since most swimwear is no longer made in the United States its up to the (Insert Brand Name) to make sure that the manufacture who is producing the swimwear for them meets those standards. Part of the problem is the (Insert Brand Name) puts pressure on the manufacturers to cut costs. So they use cheaper dyes that don't meet the requirements.
