Well i got rejected when i tried to collect the my vegas rewards. I guess i got too great a price. Lol

    My rejection:

"Unfortunately, the MyVegas reward that you redeemed is not applicable to your upcoming cruise on the Adventure of the Seas, sailing 04/19/20, reservation*xxxxxxx

The MyVegas rewards are not combinable with the promotional rates applied to your cruise. Please contact your travel agent with any questions regarding these rates. We apologize for any frustration."

This is the first time i ever heard of this. Maybe because i booked so far out??? Or my great price???

The only time I was declined, was because I was attached to a group.  My Vegas has become VERY  restrictive.  Almost to the point of NOT worth it anymore

On a recent NCL  cruise we had to attend the naughty room to collect our luggage, they had found my kettle  and this was not allowed. We did get it back on the last night.

what experiences have people had with being summoned to the naughty room on RCCL ?

what had they packed which was not allowed?

Did they give you the item back on departure?

SEVERAL years ago, we were summoned to the naughty room.   They had mistaken my facial astringent for alcohol.    They wanted to confiscate it.   I asked them to smell or taste it.  I told thrm to keep it, but the ship woild buy me a new bottle at the Clinique store on the ship.   They finally leyt me keep it..

Not sure what a flounce is but ok.  To be clear I am NOT losing perks. They are giving others the opportunity to pay for my perks. Thats is what I have issue with. This is NOT a pity party not looking for that. Just looking to raise awareness to other loyal customers to be on alert to this activity. Thats all. And you say if I have customer service issues speak about it. I have for over 5 years and have been in direct communications with Michael Bayley and his direct team to work on the issues and to no avail. Rather have been dismissed by corporate.  Not sure how anyone can feel that after 20+ years of being a loyal RCCL customer and experiencing what I have experienced would not reach the conclusion I have reached.

They are doing the same thing you have, Bill, PAYING FOR A PERK.  I am not sure what your fuss is all about.  I am  Diamond Plus, but I don't feel in anyway offended....

Good for you.....I am not one for breaking the rules....as you are.

It's nice to know you ASSUMED I broke the rules..   Common sense ditates you should PRESUME that it was ok with the ship's excursion desk, BEFORE stepping off the ship...   I asked prior to booking the cabana.  I confirmed it onboard.   Perhaps, you should take your attitude elsewhere....

  5. are you serious right now? You really must be new to cruise critic and the reviews because it sometimes will take months to complete one with lots of comments and questions. The op is not being paid to do this and does have a family to take care of and a job to work. You could have kept your rude comments to yourself and moved along if it was not to your liking.

Thank you op for taking the time to do this wonderful review.

  6. I don't understand why you were not given the opportunity for non-refundable deposits, unless you were booking a Grand Suite or better.

The reduced deposits for Junior Suites and under are a relatively new addition I think less than a year.

We booked standard balconies. The guy was apparently new, and didn't quite "know how to do his job". In essence we got screwed. We have moved past it, and know better now. Just as easy and beneficial to book when we get home..

  7. My daughter will be 19 on our next cruise & wants to gamble in the casino.

I know she will be asked for ID, especially because she looks 14.

Does she need to carry her drivers license, or is her SeaPass card all she needs? (I don't know if a birthdate is something they see when they swipe SeaPass cards)

On our last cruise, you had to be 21 or older. I don't know if it was just that cruise, or standard policy. May want to check on age restrictions..

  8. I need a hotel for just 1 day before our April cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale/Allure. I am totally clueless about where to stay as I've never stayed in FLL. I won't have a car so having a few stores close by would be nice or just something to see and do. What general area do you suggest? I have been on the travel websites and am floored by how much it's going to cost for just one day. Being Spring Break I'm going to spend nearly $300/nt with taxes for a place that's not got horrible reviews.

    Suggestions welcome.

Hyatt Place, near the Embassy Suites is fantastic.. PLenty of shops and places to eat.. Not to mention Top Wine is a short walk away..
