  1. I'm wondering if the cruiseline offers any holiday special pricing for the packages?  I know that other cruiselines will give discounts at certain times of the year on their wifi, drinks, spas etc packages that you can pre-book.  So that is the reason for my question.  Does NCL stay pretty much stay on par with their pricing or will they give any specials?  Thanks to those who can answer.

  2. I've read several posts about how spotty the Wifi systems are on the boats.  We will be traveling on the Escape and need to really find out if others experience coverage for their medical devices that are attached to apps on their phones.  I can not be the only person who is now one of the millions that wear the ever so fashionable diabetes sensor.  So did you have to pay for the premium wifi to continue the coverage for sensor or can you just do the unlimited?  Anyone who can offer their valuable input is greatly appreciated.  Thank you

  3. Can anyone offer any info in reference to those people who have mobility issues who are traveling on a NCL ship and visiting GSC?  My husband is mobility impaired and uses a scooter to get around.  I see that the ship (Escape) we will be on uses a tender to gain access to the private island.  How many other people can attest to NCL allowing scooters onboard the tenders with no issues gaining access to the island.  I'm trying to plan my day.  Appreciate all who can offer me their reviews, advices and concerns.  Thx

  4. We are planning a cruise in a year on NCL and have always purchased cruise insurance for past cruises.  I’m searching for trip cancellation/trip interruption/emergencies for both hubs n I.  NCL is using Nationwide n personally I see no difference between their standard vs premium plan.  Is there another company I can use NOT thru NCL that might offer a better pricing?  TIA

  5. Just a simple question that I hope someone can assist me with.  I have two cruises booked; one with RCCL and the other with Carnival.  Now it's been a long time since I've been on a cruise and thought I might purchase some gift cards from both lines.  My question is can I purchase the gift cards and use prior to sailing on both lines to prepay for packages and restaurants?  OR does it have to be only applied to bookings only?  I appreciate any information you can offer.

  6. Help, I need some expert advice and not sure how to proceed.  I have a teenager that will be traveling with us in just a couple of days on a Disney cruise.  Their dad, my BIL, told me its only allergies and the kid takes a prescription Rx.  Now the issue is this boy is also Autisic and has no filter.  Since we are leaving in a couple of days I'm panicking that we will be turned away and not allowed to board the ship.  He has no fever, he is not stuffed up but his nose is red and runny.  Should I take him to an urgent care in my area to have a note from the dr as to his traveling?  We did take out the travel insurance thru Disney Cruise.  I'm also fearful of contacting the cruise line for fear they will flag my account before getting there.  Can anyone offer me insight please.  HELP

  7. We've done a similar spa treatment like on RCCL on a different cruise line and it was well worth the money spent.  This will be our second adventure on a Royal class ship and a big ship to boot.  So far we can see that every little bit of fun comes at a price and we certainly aren't used to that.  So as you have written the

so-called amplification (Navigator, for example), we will have fewer and fewer Royal ships to sail on, sadly.

I'm not too sure what this entails and will have to do more research to understand RCCL cruising.

  8. Will be traveling in the next couple of months and trying to decide should I or shouldn't I?  Things to ponder and wonder......

Has anyone taken advantage of the Thermal Suites onboard the Allure?  Is it worth the amount and is it just lounge chairs or are there other experiences to take advantage of?  We are also trying to decide on excursions for St. Maarten such as a yacht cruise.  The hubs does have a certain disability in mobility, yet he can climb with assistance.  Has anyone in this kind of position experienced this?  We do like to gamble a little at specific tables and is the Casino constantly packed with people or can you say it allows everyone an opportunity to have some fun?  I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions for our upcoming trip.  Please if you have done another type of excursion do tell.  TIA

  9. After speaking with our TA she informed us we can bring on a bottle of wine or champagne, but no water.  That’s kinda weird but ok.  So is there a cork fee first of all?   Can we drink in our cabin or do we have to have in th MDR.   Has anyone brought on water onboard?  I just have to say that $39 for 12 bottles of water is pretty steep.  I appreciate everyone’s response.

    Thank you

  10. I’m not new to cruisin but 1st time on RCCL and looking for help n tips.  So TIA

    1.  How is the food in the main dining room?  Do the menu change each nite?  Also, the hibachi is it truly worth it?

    2.  The shows:  do they repeat them during the cruise in case we miss on showing?  Is it difficult to acquire tickets to them?

    3. The Casino:  do they offer decent tables such as Let it Ride, 3 Card Parker?  Are they expensive for minimum bets?  Also, for such a massive ship and amount of passengers is it impossible to get a seat?

    4.  Seems the ship nickel n dimes for everything.  How are daily specials for spa treatments?  Ship activities and such?

My mind is being overwhelmed with all it has to offer.  Any insight is helpful and appreciated.

    Thank you

  11. It seems that from everyone experience the waters off the island seem to be rough no matter what month you sail. We will be sailing in November and I would assume/guess that based on Hurricane forecasts with rocky waters it won't be suitable for us to consider the "scooter" method. Might have to buy or rent a wheelchair and I will push him along the island. Oh well, I truly appreciate all the insights to this small dilemma.

  12. Thank you all for your insights. We are traveling on Carnival Liberty and now I think we have made a BIG mistake. The hubs can go up/down steps (very limited), but for long distances he needs his scooter. Might have to rethink this as we literally just changed our itinerary and never thought about it NOT being a docked port. Ugh Maybe I need to search for a transport wheelchair to bring along as well. What planning!

  13. Just found out that Half Moon Cay is tendering not docking port. How does Carnival handle those people who are either handicapped or impaired thus needing assistance? My husband is mobility impaired and requires a scooter. I know from past experiences that staff is not allowed to assist. Can anyone give me insight for this port since we are booked and wanting to take part of activities on shore. TIA

  14. I realize that relaxation should exclude all devices, but knowing my spouse he will bring his IPad. Wondering just how good the WiFi strength is on the ships? We are considering purchasing the Premium but is the Value just as exceptable? Please tell me your thoughts and TIA.
