I just booked an independent excursion in Christiansted, thinking that's was where the ship docked.  I just realized that that we dock in Frederiksted.  (I know, I should have checked first!!)  How far is the trio between the two?  Will it be easy to get a cab and how much should I expect it to cost?  Should I be at all concerned about getting back to the ship on time?  The tour ends at 2:00 and we don't sail until 6:00.

  2. Thank you for you info, I think I really want to snorkel (last time we did a tour the guide took us to this area that was amazing and there was NO one else there!!!!!!  But I have no idea where he took us , it was Victor Bowden tours .  I’m struggling to decided what to do.

In November we were able to book a private excursion pre-cruise and were able to walk out of the pier area and over the hill to meet our guide. No issues at all.

Our cruise is on the Madi Gras on January 22, can I ask what private tour you took and what you did and price , its been several years since we have been there.

  4. This will be my DH and my 45th cruise on the Madi Gra next year (unless we sneak in another one before next October) and this will be the first time we are doing ATD, I really wish I had chosen this option before, we have done early dining and late dining. But this seems like a much better fit as we never know what we will be doing and dont want to be tied to a particular time in the dining room! There will be 6 of us , so it might be a little more of a wait but like many of you have said , just go in the atrium enjoy the entertainment and a drink!

  5. I just had to email regarding our group sailing on 1/8/17 , we have the TA from hell who does not answer the phone, return calls, messages or emails so was forced to email to ensure all of us were at the same table and the same dining time! Never had to do that before because I have NEVER used at TA before and I NEVER EVER will again!!!! I will stick to booking directly with Carnival and handeling everything myself through Carnival! Lesson learned for sure!

  6. We are a group of 12 that are so excited for our January 8,2017 Vista Cruise. We are more excited then we normally would be because of the the new Havan Cabana area. We booked 6 havana cabana balcony (lani) rooms for our cruise , and we were excited even before we could book the vista!! Now that there has been plenty of people that have ejoyed these rooms and area , I would love anyone to post pictures of these rooms or area, tips, complaints........would love anyone to share what ever they could to feed our hungry excitement !!!!

  7. Thanks to everyone that replied. I don't like to use room service that early as my DW is still sleeping. I was pretty sure the Lido would have it as everyone said. Every Carnival ship that I was on did. Just hoping something was closer, but I don't mind the walk. Thanks again and Happy Cruising

Some one mentioned their is self serve coffee right at the Havana bar!! That is right outside your room practically!!!! But not sure about the time you need , that may be a bit too early LOL

  8. Wow SweetCruiser39 that was a terrific Review with awesome pictures!! Thank you so much, we have a group of 12 of us and all of us are in Havana Cabana Balcony rooms so I just shared your review with all of them!!!! It was fantastic!! I can't wait for our cruise 1/8/2017, we have some time yet to go but the anticipation is 1/2 the fun!!!! Thanks again!! Great job!:)

  9. We were on the inaugural and had cabin 5218. Overall there is very little noise. At night when the live music started you could here a muffled sound. So I would say that if your a light sleeper it may bother you but the music generally ended by midnight. I will say that we absolutely loved the Havana interior. Very convenient to all the action on Deck 5 and the back Havana area was beyond our expectations. It will be a fantastic place to hang out when its warmer outside. Our Cabin steward Nita and her staff were superb. I know you will enjoy it and we would rebook again if given the chance.

Can you tell me how they kept cruisers that were not staying in Havana cabana rooms (especially the Havana cabana balcony rooms ( with the lanis) out of the area and what time was it open to all cruisers and were they allowed on the promenade deck on deck 5 leading to all the Havana cabana balcony rooms. John Hearld did a video on social media and he said that the gate/doors will remain locked 24/7 and only Havana cabana balcony rooms had access. Can you clearify please.

  10. legion3 is correct. All of these deck 5 rooms do not have true balconies. For me, a balcony on a ship needs to be more than just an outdoor space to yourself. It needs to go to the edge of the ship for that deck, which these don't. Anybody on the ship can be walking right in front of the patios of these deck 5 rooms, all the way up to the gate, and talk with you or high-five or hug you quite easily. It's no more private than sitting down up on lido deck around the main pool area. It's just that you have that patio space to yourselves guaranteed (as long as nobody climbs over the very low gate). On the bright side, the rooms do look really nice, and that aft pool area is supposedly only open to people in these rooms until 5pm. I just feel that the rooms are not actually balconies & shouldn't be priced as such. The suites should be cheaper than any suite that has a true balcony.

John Hearald posted video on the Havana cabana balcony rooms, yes they have a patio with a hanging swing in each (hammock) in suite patios. Also he said that there are tall gates on the promenade decks that surround deck 5 Havana cabana balcony and suites and they will remained closed and locked 24 hours and only Havana cabana balcony and suite guests will have key card acces to unlock gates to common areas on deck 5. Also the distance from the patio gates to the railing and glass of the actual balcony is very short so you really do have the best of both worlds , a patio and balcony views and privacy !!!!

  11. I too have a roll up hammock that I used on my aft entra long balcony on my Royal Carribean cruise. My Vista cruise isn't until January 8, 2017 and I have a Havana cabana balcony room that does have a swing chair in the balcony area ( I saw it today on John Herald's video (I saw my room exactly so I am please it at least has a swing chair as the only one with a hammock on the Havana Cubans balcony suites and there are only 4 of them on the whole ship! I'm pretty excited for the Vista cruise !

  12. Yes, just confirmed she passed 6/20.

I am sooo very sorry to hear of this, I toured with Thenford early 2014 and I myself was diagnosed with Breast CA in late Novemeber 2014 and then had surgery , chemo and radiation treatments ....my last treatment was 4 months ago....it has been one hell of a year but I am HERE, ALIVE and grateful!!!

Now I am planning excursions for our cruise in May 2016!! I just sent Thenford an email requested a tour of NEVIS with him this time round. This is our 2nd visit to St Kitts, so beautiful! Thenford was just a delight, enjoyed him immensely!!!!

  13. Going to book the Havanna Cabanna Balcony room on the early January 2017 sailing!!! Looks amazing and love that we have a private pool and hot tubs and Havanna Bar all to ourselves as well as our own lani area with our own hammock and lounge chair!! Sounds amazing! I hope it is!

  14. Going thru the photo process was fast, they had 3 backgrounds going (all the same) so before we knew it, we were walking up the gangplank.. well after one last selfie in the terminal.

We then were in the Atrium, taking it all in. Pics dont do it justice, it really is a site. I loved that its a little more contemporary and doesnt have that old Vegas feel like the older ships.

For months now I had been counting down via the Carnival Hub App. Since we were on board now, I decided it was the perfect time to log in. At this point only I logged in, as the guys were all in their own world trying to figure out where to eat lunch. Our cruise thread had agreed when we all got on board to log in so that when we met up at our meet & greet later we all could connect.

When you officially log in on the APP you use your folio #, so it links all your info on it, such as who you are/age/room#/table#/etc. Then it gives you another 4digit# that is yours to give out to friends & family so they can contact you thru the app. It works like sending a text message you enter the persons 4digit # in, and request them to be a contact. Once they say yes, you can send a text msg to them. Now you wont have to remember their # each time, as once they accept your request it then enters their full name into the contacts area on the app. (I should have taken screen shots but forgot in the moment). But truly it is Easy Peasy! Best part it only cost $5 per folio account/person for the whole cruise. No more having to leave post it notes on the mirror in the room. Then going back and forth to check it every now and then to meet up or check on where the kids were.

Unfortunately, they didnt allow anyone under 13 to use the app. Which was my purpose on keeping tabs on the kids. (I believe they are now changing that).

OMG this is GREAT info!! I just put the app on my phone !! Thanks for that awesome info!

  15. hi, BullDawg! I am mainly going for the steam and sauna rooms period. So if those are free, that would be cool.

Can someone definitively clarify for me if these are gratis. Just the plain sauna and steam in the locker rooms.

    thank you!

We are on this sailing 9/26/15 too!!! Love the Breeze, went last Semtember different itineary.
