  1. DH and I will be needing a hotel for one night after our transatlantic cruise in April. I'm researching and have just about narrowed it down to Park Hyatt Hamburg and Reichshof Hamburg-Curio Collection by Hilton.

We will have a mid-morning flight the next day to Frankfurt so I'm also considering Radisson Blu Hotel.

Which would you choose in reference to location and the hotel itself? Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

  2. Our Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas cruise from Cape Liberty ends on 10/17/15. Virgin America has changed our Newark departure flight time from 1 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. I'm not sure if that half hour makes much difference, but do you think we will be ok to make our flight?

From reading these boards, I think we should book in advance with Dial 7 or Carmel. Is this correct?

Thank you in advance for any and all responses.

  3. DH and I will be visiting our son in Germany prior to our November Transatlantic cruise from CIVITAVECCHIA. We would prefer to take a train from Germany to Rome, where we will stay three days before our cruise. I'm totally at a loss as to what train(s) will get us from Kaiserslautern, Germany (which is near Frankfurt) to our hotel (IQ Hotel Roma) in Rome.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Thank you all for responding. To my surprise, DH told me that he wants a nonstop or minimum one stop. Therefore, I booked our flight with Lufthansa, which is nonstop LAX to FRA. This makes me happy! :-)

I will keep all the info about Iceland Air for future reference.

  5. Can you break it up and arrive KEF one morning and leave the next? It requires extra time and a night of hotel, but Reykjavik is a great little city.

Zach1213, thanks for responding. We really do not want to stay overnight, but I guess we would have to if we can't make our connection. I'll do some research on hotels as a plan b if we decide to use Iceland Air.

    NorbertsNiece, thanks for the info.

  6. I still haven't purchased our tickets yet. I'm really still nervous about that connection time, but glad to hear that Iceland Air is fine as an airline.

I'm going to post my questions on the Europe boards, but thank you all for responding.

  7. Prior to our transatlantic cruise departing from Rome (CIVITAVECCHIA) in early November, we are going to spend a week in Frankfurt. Iceland Air has a flight departing on October 19th from Ontario (ONT) to Frankfurt (FRA) which is reasonably priced. This flight has a stop in Seattle and then on to Revkjavik (KEF). The layover in KEF is only 40 minutes. Is this enough time?

    Any thoughts on Iceland Air?

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

  8. I like that frame of mind, for life not just a diet!!!

Sorry I have not been on either so I can not help you there. Seems like they both have success stories and with the above frame of mind you are going to do great things. Sorry I cannot be more help in distinguishing between the two.

Ncovert, thank you for the encouraging words. Looking at your before and after pictures, it looks like you have lost a LOT of weight. Way to go!
