  1. Just looked at your pics Dave and they look great! I might just be able to leave the SLR at home once I get a mirrorless. Now as far as your night time shots (skyline and ships) were you hand holding and what lens were you using? Thanks!

  2. Thanks Dave! I will look into that one - just seems most of the reviews lean towards the Fuji or Olympus but am afraid the OM 1 will be too heavy for what I want the camera for so if the Sony is lighter that is a good thing!

  3. Thank you Crew News! I think I looked at that one too but it was more like the SLR so I thought that might defeat the purpose of getting something small. I've got so much tied up in my Nikon equipment that I don't really want to start anew but I will look at it again if you do think it is better. I do like the weather sealing which it has and the M5 (but that one is 2 years old) and then the M10 doesn't have the weather sealing but is newer.

  4. Hi, just wondering what you all think of the Fugi XT1 and the Olympus OM-D M5 (there is also the newer Olympus OM-D M10 which looks good too). I currently use a Nikon SLR but am wanting a lighter travel camera good in low light (will continue to use my SLR for wildlife). Thanks!

  5. Thank you everyone and thanks for sharing pictures. I actually ended up booking a balcony as they reduced the price and offered an OBC. The studio does look nice though after seeing the photos so I wouldn't be against trying it some day.

  6. Thank you so much for the encouragement Quilting Cruiser. I was thinking the same thing - if I had a balcony I might just stay out there too much. Just so used to the balcony but it is twice as much. Hope you enjoy your next cruise!

  7. Hi, I am hoping to add to my collection of the ship replicas and 2 I need are the Carnival Fantasy and the Carnival Carnivale (I don't even know if they made one of the Carnivale). Hoping someone would like to sell. Thanks!

  8. Hi we are going on our first cruise in August on the Celebrity Solstice and are going to book an excursion through Chilkoot Charters while in Skagway. They offer a couple of bus/White Pass Train excursions which look great with both going to Lake Emerald. One also goes to Lake Bennett while the other is the Yukon Rail and Bus which does not go to Lake Bennett but it includes the husky puppy camp stop. Can anyone please give their recommendations? I think the husky camp might be fun but don't want to miss Lake Bennett if is something not to miss (photography is a main interest). Thanks!

  9. Thank you SeeingtheWorldbySea! I did email Island Wings today and heard back right away. I will have to see if time permits both the bears and fijords - thanks for advising of that as I didn't thin we could do both but now will look into it.

  10. Hi we just booked a cruise to Alaska on the Celebrity Solstice leaving August 15th with stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria. We are excited as this is our first time going to Alaska! I was wondering if this is a good time to see the bears (don't the salmon run in August)? Can anyone recommend a good excursion (private as I can see what the cruise offers) for viewing the bears (I love photography and wildlife - may have to go on my own though as the rest of us won't be as interested). Thanks!
