We used Luggage Direct on the Westerdam about a week ago worked great. They take it to the airport for you and you see it when you get to your home airport. Only select airlines do it. We had Alaska Airlines.

We just got back. We had a 11:50 flight we came from pier 91 used the ships shuttle first group off ship plenty of time.

Did you have an afternoon or evening dessert extravaganza? Read some ships have stopped doing this
Did not see it, but I can't have it so I didn't notice. I'm Gluten Free they did fix me Volcano cake when we went to the Pinnacle!!!! I also stayed away from the afternoon teas. This was my first trip as gluten free.

Sometimes on the first two mornings of a cruise when the ship is in Code Orange, the concierge may tell you Pinnacle is not open for breakfast. They are sometimes mistaken. If you wish to go, call and ask Pinnacle if they are open. More often than not breakfast is available for the guests.
Elitist? People pay for it. It is no more elitist than anything else someone pays for. Someone pays for a cabana on Eurodam etc,,,,,, that is what they chose to spend their money on. Someone else pays for a pricey helicopter excursion in Alaska. Someone else chooses to spend more money for a pricey cabin and breakfast in Pinnacle is included in that price. We all spend our own money our own way.

I just read this blog post from HAL about their new menu options for people with dietary restrictions! I'm so excited and hope they have some of the new options on our Aug/Sept. cruise!
Thanks for posting!

Looking at an Aug cruise on NCL Pearl, but concerned about the flight times. Air Canada doesn't have very many flights from Seattle to Toronto. Looking at 11:30am flight. Will we be okay getting off the ship and to the airport in time?
Our agent called the cruise line to get the ok for our time, ours is 11:10 and the time for them was 11:15(the earliest) but he said it would work fine. We are on a different cruise line so call the cruise line.

Yes so what ever room will be fine Thank you!You don't really need a "side" for glacier Bay viewing as far as I'm concerned. The captain of the ship does a great job of spinning in circles so all sides of the ship get the same amount of viewing time on the glacier. And in the past, when we didn't have an aft balcony we spent time on the upper pool deck and wandered back and forth from side to side depending on which side of the ship the glacier was on.That being said people have suggested that for an Alaskan Cruise the right side of the ship is better since when you are headed UP towards the cities land is on the right side of the ship. This didn't matter to us on our cruise through because it was FOGGY and we couldn't see land anyway! lol It also seemed like we moved a lot at night when we were sleeping to again, seeing land wasn't a big priority when it's dark and we were sleeping! lol
Hope that helps!

Sue117, Hello! I have a Question that you can give me, an opinion on. You had access to both sides of the ship which one do you think is better to have for Glacier Bay viewing? Or just the whole trip in general. Thanks
-
Thanks I enjoyed this we will be on her in about 5 months.
-
No one has asked Did they try to offer you a different room? Or were you on a full ship? Just wondering in case I'm ever in your shoes.
-
Just wondering if anyone else uses trac phones? I see that they do not charge extra for calls to many places. What about text messaging? If anyone has any knowledge about this please answer. Thanks!:D
We used one in San Juan and St Thomas early this month with no problems.

Any one know about the cabin 5096 on the Eurodam ?

Loved your review! Just got done with it today as I got a late start as we just got back from Alaska and had to go back to work and had a funeral to go to. My mom never told us till we got back she didn't want to mess up our trip.
We are on the November trip with you and it will be the first time going with the Kids and grandkids. I am a little worried about this. I am also not sure there will be enough stuff for the grandkids. Me no problem it was the only ship that the kids could all get on because of timing and the special they were having.
Loved the picture of the Seward ship, as the kids were growing up we went on that at least three times it was my favorite at the time. If you find any good info on the Sun hope you share it on our roll call.
Ps. Your trip had all my fears happen in one trip! Glad to see that you can still survive and have a good trip.
