What exactly will they be doing during this "edge-i-fication"? Is this just like a dry dock period where they will be freshening the ships up? Currently looking into a 2019 cruise on the Solstice to Alaska which will be before her makeover.

I could be mistaken but I recall reading or hearing that Celebrity's kid's programs include educational STEM type programs. Which for me is a huge plus ..... I don't know if this applies to your particular sailing or itinerary but if so, that would be exciting!

Following along as this is a dream cruise for me ... and by default, my husband (hahaha) We have three young daughters, ages 6, 6 and 1 but hope to make it out for a European cruise at some point. Great job and I love all the pictures.

Currently NOT booked but we are early in our research for our June 2019 trip to Alaska via cruise. I really love X but after reading others who are loyal to X suggest HAL and Princess it looks like I may need to go into this with an open mind. We were looking at the 21 June 19 sailing on X from Seattle but it doesn't go to GB. TAF looks promising though! I just love how modern X's ships are and find that I might have to sacrifice itinerary for a more modern ship or vice versa.

The third person would have to purchase their own package from my understanding. I do believe they have or at least at one point in time they had a soda only package. I am not sure what they currently offer for non-alcoholic packages.

Thank you so much for asking this. I too am trying to figure out the best route to the port after dropping off a rental car prior to an Alaskan cruise next summer. Please post what you find out!

We are also planning a 2019 Alaska cruise to celebrate 10 years of marriage! We are still very early in the planning phase but the one thing we are 100% certain on - a balcony is a MUST for us. We are currently thinking we want to book an aft (one of our favorite views on previous cruises) cabin on the Solstice in June!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this pictorial review up. I absolutely love finding these things while researching destinations.

I got the same email as well!

Interesting, thanks! Can you share what the offer was dollar wise?
I'm not sure if the rules permit me to disclose that information? I will say that it wasn't a super fantastic deal but it was a few hundred less than the current rate and traveling with our two young kids (3&4) it made the most sense for us to snag the deal. Plus, opening up the divider on the two long balconies is a major plus for us!

Actually I was asking Shebring the question about her upgrade.
Hello! We are exactly 40 days out today, they called me last night!
-
Sorry that you missed that phone call! Bummer. I missed mine last night too, except they called my husbands phone right after mine and I was able to score two upgrades. We originally had two side by side balconies booked for our upcoming cruise and was upgraded to two side by side suites! I would call carnival back and inquire about your missed call! Good luck!

The second itinerary is my favorite!

I think it's just the gamble you take when you book a gty. In the past, early into my cruising days I would book an inside gty and usually found myself "upgraded" to a porthole OV

This is one of the many reasons I am thankful for this board! I am traveling with my two young children (3 & 4) my husband and mother in two balcony staterooms - one of the things that was important to us since one of my daughters is booked with grandma in the next room (and the potential for our second daughter to have a sleep over in Gigi's cabin) was that the balcony open for easy access between the two cabins and to enjoy the kids together on the dual balconies. I just found out (even after several calls to carnival to confirm that the balconies will open to one) that the balconies indeed DONT open!!! Luckily I was able to confirm that the cabin on the other side of my mom was still open & the balconies do open so a quick call to carnival eased this mommys delimma!
Thank you again for the posts above and the reference link!

All of this is very tragic.

Can you confirm that children who are free get free food/beverage credit??
I was under the impression kids 5 and under are free, but there was no voucher for food. Please let us know how this was handled. thanks.
From the handful of websites that I've visited while researching this - I've found that children under 5 are free but that doesn't include free food. I've only read that with the purchase of a child's ticket then you get a $20 food credit

Sorry I can't provide any advice but I will say this, I loved the Reflection. Probably my favorite ship {that I've sailed} to date! We had an aft balcony and loved every moment of our cruise!
-
I had no idea that USAA offered travel insurance! Thank you so much for providing this information! I will certainly be looking into it for our upcoming cruise!
-
Thank you for all the good advice!
I think I will simplify it and just have our attendant bring it :)
I haven't tried the red velvet but I do love a good red velvet cupcake :) so it might be worth a try, right?
Unfortunately, we didn't get to participate in the 123 perk of the drink package since we used a military rate :( kinda bummed about that but using the military rate saved us a few hundred :)

Another silly question: do we bring our own wine opener? I just don't want mine to be confiscated as a weapon in my luggage :D
-
Thank you so much for your quick reply! That sounds awesome.
I hope you enjoy the century! We sailed her for our honeymoon!

I apologize in advance - it seems as if my searching has been disabled; although this might be a site wide issue - my apologies if it's just due to my lack of activity on CC in the past few years that might have caused me to miss a change.
Anyway, my husband and I are taking a 7 night cruise on the reflection (29MAR) sailing. We are really excited - my question is, I know that we can bring up to two bottles of wine per stateroom {at embarkation} my question is ... will it be delivered to our stateroom for us to consume there or are we required to pay the corking fee, meaning we would have to have it during a dinner?
This will be the first time we are considering bringing wine onboard ... I enjoy a cheap wine, Cupcake vineyards moscato and would love to have some on our sunset veranda
Thanks in advance!

To continue with Day 2....we were relaxing in the Persian Gardens on the divine heated loungers.
There are also a variety of saunas and steam rooms in this area for use by PG guests (AQ guests and those purchasing a PG pass).
Sauna, with ocean view:
Steam room:
Cold Room:
There was an aromatherapy steam room but I did not really notice too much aroma in there, as well as a hammam (which was just a very steamy room) and 2 sets of rain showers that were very chilly. We primarily used the loungers.
I have not had the chance to complete this review yet but oh my gosh - that picture of you enjoying the heated loungers is GORGEOUS! Seriously. I am so ready for some relaxation!

Cruising this Saturday and I’m so thankful for this board and information found in this forum. Y’all just saved me a good chunk of money - Walgreens wanted $129.99 per test (there’s 6 of us!) I ordered from EMed - a 6 pack with overnight shipping was less than $200! Thank you!!!!
